That we’re more worried about people hearing so-called bad words or seeing nudity more than we are about seeing violence, death, and murder will never not be weird.

Personally I don't want any of it to be censored. But where it became a problem in some of these songs is the meaning of the lyrics could be lost (and they weren't songs promoting gun violence, just talking about it)

Yeah, taking a break from being online, especially social media, is good for one's mental health and perspective. I found that since noping out of Twitter, Faceback, etc., I'm much better at not taking the bait and impulsively posting on forums like this.

Definitely pulling back on the internet is a healthy thing for your nerves

So, I'll grant that in most contexts, things like the n word are more controversial than f. But this wasn't the n word. And lots of the internet has language filters (I approve in most cases). But have you ever seen a scenario where the first was censored but not the latter? That's a first for me. I'm guess I'm going to have to get used to hearing people talk about that effing Scunthorpe problem.
Scunthorpe was the main one I was thinking of as being generally considered a little worse than eff.

I think its a very oddly North American thing?
It's not a European thing, certainly, but in my own experience I've found aversion to bewbs and acceptance of bullets to be the case in parts of the Middle East and central Asia. I mean, it's different there than the US, but also the same in some ways.

Presumably part of that difference is that they don't intentionally misspell "boobs" in the Middle East and Central Asia?
