These are definitely systemic problems at play (and very old problems; I remember my grandparents talking about them back in the 80s), but you were talking about cultural dead-ends. Like culture itself is coming to an end, and the only place to find culture is in the rear-view mirror.

Saw a tweet recently from someone's rule of thumb in trying to tell the difference between the two:

"If I'm trying to figure out if it's a crow or a raven, it's probably a crow. If I'm afraid for my life, it's a raven."

Well, that was a deeply unpleasant thing to have to read. Not really sure this is the place for referring to deeply marginalized human beings using terms more appropriate for the spread of disease. I would imagine that there is a place for that, but in all honesty, there really shouldn't be.
