Ooh! Ooh! I want a plush Demogorgon! Two loveably huggable heads!

And a plush Anthraxus! He leaves stuffing all over the house!

And a plush Juiblex!

Well, maybe not...

(But then, I still think they should make Cthulhu-shaped planters and call them NyarlathoPets...)

I know this is kinda out there...way out there...but what if the morphy thing becoming Buffy in the end is foreshadowing that Buffy herself is going to end up as this season's "big bad"? I mean, she's not entirely human since she came back, right? Be a way to kill off Buffy for the end of the series and put Dawn in the driver's seat. The Scoobies would have to stop her and then and the last minute she regains her goodness, but has to sacrifice herself to save the world, ala Season 5.

Nah, on second thought, that's kinda silly...whoever heard of the main protagonist becoming the main antagonist in a TV show for any extended period? Besides I'd rather no more core charaters died. Buffy started as a movie, it should end as one too... :)

As to the morphy thing, I have a different theory. It being the First is a bit too obvious (well, for the more ravenous fans, anyway). And it isn't simply Spike's madness. Willow did say that "the Hellmouth will destroy us all" or something to that effect. What if it's some sort of personification of the Hellmouth itself? It changed to the forms of the most powerful beings that were drawn to its power (directly or indirectly). It's not open, and so it's weak and biding it's time for now, but if it does open it could become a super powerful being (let alone a portal to a hell dimension). What better big bad for the final season than the Hellmouth itself?

All random speculation...

Some thoughts...

Killing of slayers in training. Sounds like a inside job, a watcher gone bad and trying to move a canidate to the top of the line. Which means he would have to kill Faith for the new slayer to activate. Buffy's death activated Kindra, Kindra activated Faith.

Dawn is a slayer because of being made from the blood of Buffy.

They've done the Watcher gone evil thing. Season 3 with Gwendolyn Post (Post. Wood? Robin Wood? Mr. Pointy!!??)

And i think he is military. Even if Buffys file did get burned in Graduation Day part 2, The Inititive knew about Buffy in the Episode Primeval when the Inititive got 'covered up'

It is widely theorized that Dawn might be a potential Slayer due to her blood kinship with Buffy, but that is far from confirmed. Nobody on screen has yet even throized it, much less proved it. If nothing else, we don't know that being a Slayer has anything at all to do with genetics. Definately a "don't count your chickens" scenario.

For Angelsboi - yes, they've doen the Watcher gone evil thing. But they've also done the military thing. So on that score, the two are even.

But really, it's jumping the gun a lot to suggest he's evil. If the analogy holds, he's one of the good guys. Fans have been theorizing that maybe Dawn qwill be the next Slayer. How wonderfully convenient would it be if the school principle were also her Watcher, huh? :)

It's also quite possible that he's neither military, nor Watcher. If we follow the analogy, he's a force trying to keep the Hellmouth closed. It isn't like Joss has ever been at a loss for new ideas.

Well, they did the military thing too. I think watcher makes a little more sense based on the way he acted. However, either would make a very interesting character.

i can tell you he isnt. Dawn is going to Giles' new show and this is Buffy's last season.

If he is Dawns watcher, he would be going to Giles new show too and so far they have Allison, Michelle, Anthony and the girl who played Olivia and the guy who plays Ethan.

But heres to a new season hoping all will be explained.

Also, i LOVE how Buffy started telling her to watch out for all the bad things that happened. The invisible girl , the hyeneas, the mummy girl and the bugs

Oh? How can you tell this? From whence does your information come?

The official word from Marti Noxon, as of September 23rd, 2002, was that they hadn't yet decided exactly what, if anything, will be done in the future:

http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/art-tv.html?2002-09/23/14.00.tv

(Beware, there are some spoilers in that article.)

Now, I would not be surprised if the unofficial word is a few steps ahead of the official one, but so far I haven't seen the production execs caught in too many outright lies. They may occasionally "leak" false information, but when you can quote them directly, they're probably telling the truth.
