Perhaps, if they get decent writers this time. The problem with setting up Snoke and the Emperor, is that J J Abrams didn't think through where the plot was going. Just a bunch of loose mysteries, with the idea to make it all up as he goes along... which is a terrible idea. A lesson we already learned with Lost, which was also a giant mess.

I can see Filoni and Favreau doing a trilogy, if someone writes them a proper story that spans 3 movies, instead of only one that has a ton of unanswered loose ends.

Tbh, even letting JJ do the whole trilogy would likely improve it, as long as he had to have movie three roughly mapped out before shooting movie one. TLJ is great, but it’d be better if it was more cohesive with the JJ films.

Well his trilogy is still on officially. Any day now. They're hanging out with the D&D movie. They're having a party.

The proof will be in the pudding when he does his trilogy. Yep it's totally going to happen.

I would've been OK with that.

Me too.

This may be an unpopular option, but I would have been fine with an all-Johnson or all-Abrams trilogy. Rian Johnson's would have been majestic space opera made by a gifted director, Abrams's would have been a triple-A B-movie full of charm and a few great emotional scenes.

The director doesn't matter to much they needed a story group and some good writers with a producer to keep the directors on track.

The could use 3 different directors as long as they more or less followed the scripts/plan.

Another probably unpopular opinion: the stories don't matter all that much in Star Wars. They've always been something of a mess (your father, really??). Which is fitting for something with deep roots in Flash Gordon serials.

I mean, I'd say the best stories I'm aware of were done by Dave Filoni and the writers for KotOR 1 & II, ie folks kinda late to the franchise.

When you Google top ten StarWars XYZ there's usually recurring suspects.

Disney kinda identified key parts of it put them togather wrong with say TFA.

Moth ng wrong with fan service with established franchises but there's clever ones and outright copying stuff.

Mandalorian is a more or less original story and the fan service stuff is more easter eggs and organic.

And they're trying it back to earlier episodes and series as well so it's a more coherent story.

Last episode made two if the "filler" season 1 episodes matter more.

Even something basic like Ahsoka new viewed get a great introduction to her and hard core viewers get to see an old favorite whose storyline they've been following for 12 years.

Even basic things like Ahsokas white lightsabers in dim lighting look great vs Rey's yellow lightsaber looking eh in RoS one noticed.

Yellow lightsabers can look great but imho you want to put them in darker scenes in terms of lighting not bright Tatooine.

Disney+ going up two euros or equivilent from March. Star is getting added with adult themes content you can lock. At least if you're in the anglosphere or western europe.

Ten new Star Wars and MCU series coming.
