Perhaps, if they get decent writers this time. The problem with setting up Snoke and the Emperor, is that J J Abrams didn't think through where the plot was going. Just a bunch of loose mysteries, with the idea to make it all up as he goes along... which is a terrible idea. A lesson we already learned with Lost, which was also a giant mess.
I can see Filoni and Favreau doing a trilogy, if someone writes them a proper story that spans 3 movies, instead of only one that has a ton of unanswered loose ends.
