okay, maybe this belongs in the general forumn ...

but a Kobold commoner would have ...

1d4 hp (2), init: +1, speed 30', AC 14 (+1 dex, size, nat, padded) ...
Attack: Halfspear -1, 1d6-2 20/x3 (or use a work pick, stats?); Face/Reach 5x5/5
Spec Qual: Darkvision 60', light sensitivity.
Saves: F +0, R +1, W +0
Abilities: S 6 (-2), D 13 (+1), C 11, I 10, W 10, Ch 10
Skills: Profession (miner) +3 [+2 racial, +1 rank], Hide +5 [+1 dex, +4 size], Search +2 [+2 racial], Listen +2 [+2 feat], Spot +3 [+2 feat, +1 rank], Move Silently +1 [+1 dex], Craft (trap making) +2 [+2 racial]

poor lil guys!

is that really that much different from the MM? ... sure the MM is a bit better, but at 2 hp does it make that much of difference!

Cute... :D You should write up a kobold barbarian also...

PC's: What do you mean I don't kill it in one blow? It's just a friggin' kobold for cryin' out loud.
DM: Yes, but this kobold is a barbarian, and now he's raging.

Beware the might of the raging kobold. :D

Later,

i wanted to play a halfling barbarian for my last D&D character, but when another guy picked a halfling druid, i just decided to be an elf. :D god rest his soul, poor fella. ;)

Favourite PC class: Wizard

Favourite PC race: Human or Genasi

Favourite PC (currently): Terel Darkmoon LE Human Wiz 18 with his raven familiar Matthew. :D

Terel's favourite spell: Horrid Wilting.

Only problem is that undead are immune to the wilting. :(

A kobold barbarian it is ...

I'll use the default array (or stats from golem in the chat room) ...

if it's a PC class then it benefits from starting PC stuff ... either a starting package or roll for gold ... and 4x Skill points (16 + 4*int).

and of course max hp ... that's at least 12 :) ... and on top of that any con mods.

That's the scary part. It's a good idea, I'm going to use it next time my party runs into some li'l guys, which will probably be ridge goblins.

As I said earlier "Fear the Raging Kobold".

Think about it, all the small humanoids (Goblins, Kobolds, Halflings, and Gnomes) really benefit from being barbarians, not to mention Barbarians benefit from being small (+1 AC and +1 att. bonus.) Just put your best roll in Con or Dex and you're set for a raging good time.

rarrr?

k, so that guy would be the tough kobold barbarain type ...

for sorta tough guy barbarian (ie NPC or fodder type): average hp roll, and no 4x skill points.

changes:
8 hp,

skills: craft (trapmaking) +5, listen +3, spot +3, ... hide +4

AC 18 [+3 studded leather, +1 small shield, +1 size, +2 dex, +1 nat]

weapon: hand axe +1 [+3 rage], 1d6 [+2 rage]
