Also, my old dog (rip) was not a fan of chickens - glad to see Lily is gentle; and surprised the chicken isn't, well, chicken.

My brother's border collie became my brother's border collie because he developed a taste for the chickens on the farm he lived on.

I just realized that this could be unclear: the border collie was living on the farm, eating the chickens; my brother lives in the suburbs and isn't running an all-you-can-eat poultry buffet for border collies.

I understood, but also can see the ambiguity in retrospect.

As I recall, a dog in one of James Herriot’s books did likewise. But it didn’t end well for that one.

Ah, so far a happy ending for my brother's dog. He doesn't like bicycles, men with beards, or dancing. My brother calls him the Reverend sometimes.
