and as a gerneal note to everyone, please don't post more then three reviews in a day. Since only so many reviews get on the "new review" list posting too many reviews all at once can make is so other people's reviews are not seen. And I'm sure everyone would like their reviews to be seen. Thanks.

Dang..... who's got the time to post 3 reviews a day?!?!? ;)

I wish I could, but I think 1 or 2 a week is the best I'll be able to do. Since I am reviewing only things I own, (whether I like the product or not -- I do own stuff that's just meh...), I like to read it thoroughly, even use it, and then post a review.

Am I doing too much? I simply won't post reviews from skimming them or just taking a cursory look.

Some times people write a few reviews in aweek but post them all in one day I know I've done this before . Other times I've done a few really short PDFs on a lazy Saturday or Sunday and gotten quite a few done in one day.

I do think people need to be spending a bit more time with the PDFs since it seems that some are doing a fast turn around but its relaly hard to judge that.

Well, with a good update to the revie wsite finished, I'd like to really get this thing back up and running. So, if you owe me a review of something please try to find the time to do it it soon. And if you are in need of something to review, please contact me and we'll get you set up with something. Its time to bring the reviews back to a place of importance. :D

I'm still looking for some people to help out in reviewing. If you only want to do one to try it out and then stop that's okay. No one is expecting people to review a lot of books in a short time. A week or two to review a book is okay.

My PDF Reviewer Profile

[sblock]A Little Bit About Me
My name is Jim and I am a 31 year old recently married male who has been playing since 1989 (16 years). My interests are Computers, Martial Arts, and Roleplaying Games. I am a Web Designer for County Governemnt in Wisconsin. I have a Bachelors Degree in Computer Information Systems and an Associates Degree in Computer Networking Technologies.

The Beginning
I have been playing D&D since first edition - Technically! I started with a Killer DM that ran a 2 quick gaming sessions and then he left for the summer. That summer I bought MMII as my first book and then 2nd Edition came out. I bought the books and started playing with one who has become my best friend. We learned the game together and have been playing since.

Worlds and Products of D&D
I have purchased pretty much every rule book, and every Forgotten Realms product out there. I loved Spell Jammer. I really liked Birthright, but I felt that the rules were somehow unfinished. I loved Darksun and Planescape. I did not like the heavy British flavor or the art work for Planescape. The non-boxed set accessories for Planescape were excellent (Factol Manifesto), but for the boxed sets I felt that I did not get my money's worth. I have pretty much forgotten all other worlds now that Eberron is out! :D

PDF Products
I do not by PDF products because I spend what money I do have available on WOTC stuff and there is more than enough of that to go around. I am thinking of picking up a second job just to afford it all. ;)

The other really important reason why I do not purchase PDF products or any non WOTC product is concern of quality and balance. I am not saying that 3rd party stuff cannot be balanced, that certainly is not the case. It is something that I know I have to worry about and cannot just blindly pick up something that looks cool and run with it.

Balanced game mechanics is something that is very important and I am really hesitant to buy non-WOTC. I have considered it, especially with all of the talk of Elements of Magic, Grim and Gritty, Black Company and a few others which are popular on the boards and have very few complaints.

Reviews
I emailed Crothian a little while back in response to this thread and minutes later recieved my first PDF to review. Because of my bias towards quality mechanics my reviews will most likely take a look at mechanics if something sparks me to take a look.[/sblock]

I'll post something in a couple of days. I've been slammed at work and I have a few PDFs I bought recently that I want to post reviews about.
