So how do people enjoy doing the reviews thus far?

Learning anything about the books that you took for granted in the first read though?

well, soon comes the not so fun part; the time when I xcontact people who haven't reviewed what they have been given. Some people have had things for over 4 weeks with no review and that is plenty of time.

When we brought Denizens of Avadnu to GTS 2 years ago I gave out 30 copies for review. I never got one review from that. Being a $39.95 hardcover and out first product, I learned my lesson. If you want to do a review of one of our products, you not only send me an email, but you send me at least 10 reviews of products you have already done. It happens and it sucks. I must say though that the reviewers at EN World have been great. They have all been very fair with their reviews, and they are easy to get in touch with.

That's really :):):):):):). I hate hearing things like this, it makes all reviewers look bad and that's no good.

Absolutely. Discovering new publishers' work, finding lovely tidbits to use in most pdfs I've read, and actually thinking properly about the content rather than just scanning it makes you appreciate it more. Personally, I'm enjoying it a lot! Great project! ;)

I've learned that the quality of editing can make or break a product.

I've also learned that it's really easy to write about a product's faults, and hard to adequately express when it does something well.

Writing a review for something you enjoy can just fly off the fingertips. On the other hand, writing something you're not really all that happy with can just drag.

Cheers,
Vurt

Due to a busy schedule I have not gotten to even reading the last Item you sent me. I will rectify that this week and try to have a review by Monday. And then The Spycraft 2.0 Review as well... :)

I'm enjoying it. I'd done a few before, but I must say I found some good ideas in the review I completed today that I hadn't expected to find. There is gold in almost everything, I suspect.

As to "took for granted in the first read through"? Aheh. One good thing, and one bad. The bad was that I assumed the company would do a closer job of proofing the product. The good was that I really found myself appreciating how even a short pdf can be very useful, once I got done and thought about how I'd actually use the product.

RangerWickett, you'll have mail shortly.
