Not necessarily. He could say (and could mean, despite the ominous foreshadowing) I meant "I am thinking of quitting the job."

Joy: “Damn that’s crazy. Good luck tho.”

Langdon: “We could use the extra help.”

Joy: “Yeah I bet. Good luck man.”

This is the most authentic and admirable clinical scene I’ve ever seen.

“Yeah, I’ve got boundaries, you should look into that, and so should everyone in our line of work.”

In the UK it seems well timed with the current resident* doctor strike, though of course that’s a coincidence.

*I’m not a fan of us having adopted the US term inaccurately, but I agree it’s better than “junior doctor”.
