Rpg.net hates anything that's popular.
Muh?

The place that's pretty much Exalted and WoD (and Scion) central, last I looked? I thought those were popular, relative to most other RPGs' uptake at least. I'm sure I'm missing a couple of big name games there, as well.

And there's a strong Eberron following there too, from memory. That can't be too unpopular, if WotC will be redoing it for 4e. . .

Their d20 forum has pretty decent traffic, too. Some of the 4e threads are quite busy.

I've been shot at by people with less hate than I see at Dragonsfoot. It's really disappointing, I mean I may not like 4e but I don't run around spewing that sort of vitriol. You'd think there'd be some commonality with players of the newest last edition.

I would just like to point out the irony of someone complaining about the proliferation of 4e fanatics on this board, squeezing out the poor 3E'ers, while lamenting the lack of love he receives from prior edition grognards on Dragonsfoot.

I hate to break it to you, but you are now a prior edition grognard. I suppose that wherever you choose to congregate, 4E fans will be most unwelcome.

(edit - Okay, a few hours later and I've just re-read my post. I sounded like a total jerk. Never post after you've had a bad day. Sheesh)

And you're not worried about that, seeing as you will switch to 4e?

As far as I'm aware, and Erik can certainly correct me, Paizo's plans for 4e haven't been revealed yet. You're assuming they'll switch. The last comment I remember was they they said their fanbase would decide about the switch, and from Erik's comment I'm (possibly incorrectly) inferring that they might just stay with 3.5e because they have such a large fanbase for that.

Having said that, Paizo is probably the company that can keep people away from 4e. If they decide to stay with 3.5e, a lot of other people with stay with them. I think at present they hold considerable market power in the 3.5e/4e market and are WotC biggest competition.

Nothing against Erika and crew, but I think this is entirely untrue. Paizo might be one of the biggest fish in the d20 pond, but they're still a small fish in the RPG sea.
