The Rock, uh, rocks

WotC's bitch
Just saw Welcome To The Jungle today, and it was not half bad. Okay, there were no deep, insightful meditations on the human condition, but bugger that. The Rock actually does pretty good as an actor, not just a tough guy, and is not shown up by all his co-stars. Plus there were lots of very slick fights, and some very big explosions, which, as you know, are very important to me.

I hear he handles the comedic aspects well, also. Is that true from your perspective? :)
It is from mine at least. The Rock did quite a good job in Welcome to the Jungle (known to the American audience, I think, as The Rundown?)

Well geez, don't ask me about comedy. Don't know the first thing about it.

But yeah, The Rock does pretty good. He mostly plays the straight man and lets Seann William Scott (whatsisface, the snotty guy from American Pie) do the gags. He has real presence though, as well as having more than one emotion in his acting range.

Yes, it is known here in the US as The Rundown. And I thought it was hilarious. The monkey scene ruled...

I thought The Rock was very good in that movie as well. He has done much better than other pro wrestlers who have tried to break into movies.

His episode on SNL was also very funny. The Rock is good with comedy.

It sure beats the original US title, "Hell Dorado."

Ah. I was wondering what the heck movie Hong was talking about.

I don't know, I kinda liked that. Must be because I went to a junior high school called El Dorado, and that's what we all called it :D.

I'll have to check this movie out. I haven't heard one bad thing about it. At the time, it struck me as a "wait for HBO" kind of film, but maybe I'll break down and rent it now.
