The shrink Item battering ram?

I'm planning to try a sorc out soon, and I was thinking about shrink item. I want to know just what I can do with this spell. Can I shrink a stone, put it in a keyhole and then have it pop a lock? Can I shrink a large stone, throw it, and have it return to normal size just in time to hit someone? Could I have a paper coated with contact poison (on one side). Shrink it to a cloth, give it to someone as a gift and then return it to its deadly state?

Also normally a 10 ft cube is 10 by 10 by 10 in dnd terms. But this spell says 2 cu. feet, so is 1 x 2 x 1 in this case?

I don't see why you couldn't pop a lock with a shrunk stone, and the throwing idea seems good. You'd have to check with your DM. I'm not so certain what the spell means by shrinking something to a cloth, so I'll let someone else answer that.

2 cu. feet is 1x1x2, or 1x2x1, or 2x1x1, yes.
