LARPers come out the worst, but I think their assessment of LARPer social life is entirely untrue. If anything, it seems the opposite (more members of the opposite sex LARP and they also are highly social).

But I wouldn't want any facts to get in the way of a snobby men's magazine that discusses ENERGY BARS. That's FAR less dorky.

The whole gamin thing has a bad image problem. I think if half the jocks, punks and general idiots in the world who think RPGs are geeky tried them, I think they'd enjoy them.

I don't know about LARPers, though, the guys I know who LARP are pretty weird!...

Actually, the lowest on the Geek Heirarchy chart was, if I recall, people who write pornographic versions of Furry Star Trek stories where they put themselves in as a central character.

These days, there are much worse things then being a geek....but LARPERS are at the high end of the public humiliation scale...being "social" with each other--and playing out there social life in charecter!--is the problem

Oh, please - they forgot some of the really geeky hobbies! For example:

1) Watching two bunches of big guys shove, jump on, trip, leap upon, and generally grope each other while throwing a ball around a field.
2) Watching a bunch of cars drive around and around.
3) Watching two people hit a ball back and forth across a net.
4) Watching a group of people hit a small ball a number of times till it falls into a hole. And then do it another 17 times.
...

You get the idea
