Ralan | With the House Myrrkal Caravan, Abils Fields, Lurien

"hmm, this may not be the the wizest thing I've done... but i can't leave Talia with them... Ayala know what they'll do to her!" Ralan will head towards the horses, making sure he isn't seen. He'll carefully listen for anything that may give him a clue to where they are.

If he thinks there is a chance, He'll try to sneak up on the riders individually, to improve his chances.

Ralan doesn't have too much trouble sneaking into the camp. The guards, such as they are, do not pay much attention to the flank from which Ralan emerges. Ralan assumes that the guards are expecting a frontal assault by many more soldiers than just one person. This works well to Ralan's advantage.

He finds a lone hobgoblin horseman, though this one does not have Talia in his possession. Ralan dispatches this hobgoblin easily and without making too much noise.

OOC: Sneak attack works wonders on 1 HD creatures!

Ralan then sees something he probably should not have found as shocking as he would at first: Avrick speaking with two hobgoblin leaders, standing next to a wagon that's being loaded with supplies.

Sharma | At Mokkar and Aboard the Just Looking

Ferrix said:
Sharma collects the cup, smiling and raising it in a responsive toast to his excellent audience, "a storyteller needs only a good ear to listen."

Nodding in acknowledgement to Imro, Sharma spends the rest of his journey talking and gathering bits of everyones stories. When he encounters Jaroth, he inquires about Captain Spitsteel and what is it that makes the man keep such private company. In his sparetime, he'll write a short note thanking the Captain for the swift journey and his pleasant crew. Depositing the note under the Captain's door as the make way for the docks of Mokkar, Sharma will bound up to the deck, glad to have land in sight once more, and a bit of Eyla as well before he goes.

With a relenting smile to the half-elf maiden of his inspiration, he meanders down the plank next to Jaroth onto the docks, "so, where could I find the druids, since you know Mitea better than myself."

Jaroth smiles. "The druids?" he asks. "Once we get to Hrux, they can be found most likely on Rudbury Hill, not far north of the port district."

The dwarf takes Sharma aside. "I wouldn't travel too far from the ship right now, though. Mokkar is a dangerous place for one such as yourself. Stick to the docks, and even then, keep your wits about you. We'll be leaving here for the mainland before too long."

Shuelsai Deng | Island of Marvoe, off the Coast of Lurien

Making his way away from the rude man in the tavern, Shuelsai leaves the village briefly to gather some bait, herbs, and other provisions for his journey. As he prepares to cast off to venture further upriver, he waves and smiles happily at those upon the shore.

OOC: I suppose he's going to head further inland so he can climb this mountain to inspect it for shrines and scary children.

Misha Koldun | In the Viltoe Mountains Outside Veltune, Lurien

His foes dispatched, Misha turns to take stock of his situation. Leading a bit on, Misha finds a snowy peak, and beyond that, at some distance, a flat rocky plain.

Misha laughs for a moment gathering his breath before he covers his wounds as best as he can. He searches the assailants for any goods and takes their weapons and places them on his steed. He turns to his horse and sighs, "Shall we continue... Raziel be pleased..."

He starts walking.

Raster smiles and says matter-of-factly, "Amber doesn't talk because she doesn't know what to say." The bear looks down at Amber. "She'll speak to you when she's ready, or when she has something to say."
Jacoby looks down at Amber who has now rolled over onto her side into Jacoby's lap to get her belly rubbed. He raises an eyebrow at the talking bear's matter of fact statement and idly pats his mount between her forelegs. Is that supposed to be a comforting thought?
Jacoby, Amber, and Raster spend a few more days in the mountains before coming to a particularly tricky summit.
OOC: Jacoby intends to continue his daily training sessions with Amber, and with Raster's help if he's willing.
Beyond, an area painted with the rays of the morning sun, which Jacoby makes out as a plateau. He can't make out much details from this distance; it's a good mile or so away still. But something about this plateau seems... "Yup," Raster says without being asked. "That's it, my friend. We are very close now. But this is just the first part of the journey. The real adventure is about to begin. Let's get you there before dark."
Although exhausted by the long hard climb into the mountains while following his seemingly tireless guides, Jacoby is desperate to finally reach the goal of his divinely inspired quest; the Chapel from his dream. With his food and water all but spent, his weary legs trembling, his eyes bleary from lack of proper rest, his muscles aching and his chest heaving from the thin mountain air, Jacoby desperately forges ahead as if possessed. Tears begin to streak his face at the mere thought of finally seeing that dream place made real; that which has torn him from his peaceful home. A place which now seems so far away in some imagined life he once led.

"You will pay for your actions, traitor" Ralan thinks to himself. "I now need to focus on Talia". Ralan tries to push away the thought that Talia might have done the same thing as Avrick.

OCC: How empty is the camp (i.e. Is it mostly empty because they're likely still attacking the caravan?)? How much time has passed since the beginning of the attack? Is there a chance that most of the attackers could be coming back soon?

Ralan is by nomeans suicidal, but he wants to save Talia if he can. So, if the camp guards are not too many and spread apart, he'll study their movements and try to we eliminate them one by one, VERY silently. If Ralan believes that the odds are too stacked against him, he won't do this and continue looking for Talia but if he believes there is a chance of success, he'll go Rambo-the quiet kind ;)

With noises in the distance that almost seem to beckon, Shuelsai finds the patches of jungle and foliage on Marvoe to his liking. It is a calm day, without much wind, and the sun beats down brightly. Strange animals bray and call in the distant murkiness of the jungle. Beyond this jungle, Shuelsai can see a great mountain, which shows no signs of habitation.

Villagers tell Shuelsai that the jungle is dangerous, and that he should stay away from there. Questions about the mountain give different answers, but most are non-committal about that can be found there.

One villager, a woman named Jessa, tells Shuelsai that there is a Shrine to the Great Mother to be found in the mountains. Of the villagers, only the Hermit is permitted to go there. The rest stay away out of fear that the Great Mother will be upset.

The snow-covered plateau is sparsely forested, and Misha can see on the far side a building of some kind. The roof of this simple building is covered with white coat of snow. Misha does not see any other people around, nor any creatures.

As he gets closer, Misha sees a slight drift of smoke coming from the building's chimney. For some reason, Misha seems familiar with this odd building.

With a few more steps, Misha notices someone on the far edge of the plateau, across from this building. At this distance, Misha thinks it may be a short man or a boy with a dog in tow.

OOC: Raster won't be around much longer unfortunately.

Raster smiles as Jacoby makes the final ascent. "Well, young hero," he says. "You've made it to what some call the first threshold. I dunno about stuff like that. But here we are at the plateau. I've no doubt you'll recognize this place."

Tears begin to streak his face at the mere thought of finally seeing that dream place made real; that which has torn him from his peaceful home. A place which now seems so far away in some imagined life he once led.

Jacoby sees before him a large, flat, snow-covered plateau. The far side is sparsely forested, and there is a small building adjacent to the trees.

"This is where we part ways, Jacoby," Raster says. "You have great things ahead of you, Bahamut willing."

Raster's ears perk up and he sniffs the air. "I think you've got company." The bear points a large paw towards a figure with a horse standing a few hundreds yards from Jacoby's position.

The bear rumbles away, down the mountain trail and out of view, leaving Jacoby and Amber alone to ponder their next actions.

OOC: The camp is nearly empty. Ralan gets the sense that survivors from the attack may be returning soon, hopefully badly wounded and without much booty. That remains to be seen.

Avrick vanishes into a tent, and Ralan cannot see inside from where he is. The wagon is just about ready to roll, with Talia tied up and thrown in with a bunch of supplies, bound for who-knows-where.

As he nears the covered wagon, Ralan does not see any guards. The hobgoblins who had been guarding the wagon have moved to the front and jumped into the drivers' perch. There are a few other random goblins and hobgoblins near the wagon, but there might be a chance for Ralan to move to the wagon without being seen.

As Ralan ponders his next move, the wagon lurches forward and begins to leave the camp!
