The way that Batman should be.....

I never have liked the costumes of the warners batman movies. The stupid sculpted rubber crap that was so thick the actor can't even hear anything. It always looked lame as hell to me. The outfit in this... wow... so much better. The look is great, just like from the comics. Warner's can take their rubber suits and eat them for all I care, it doesn't compare to the image and sound of a batman putting on a leather mask, leather cape, and leather gloves, and then the sound of him clenching his fists. THAT is BATMAN.

"The way that Batman should be" is called "Batman The Animated Series".

All hail Bruce Timm and Paul Dini.

True 'dat. Siskel and Ebert both mentioned that the best Batman movie was 'Mask of the Phantasm'. And they were right.

Still, you've got to give Mad Propz to the makers of this film. It's technically very good, it's not too cheezy, and it was made on a very, very small budget.

And that visual of Batman rising off of the ground, pulling his cape up as he goes, like a rising shade of darkness? Pure visual beauty. No live action Batman movie has captured that particular visual with anything even close to resembling that kind of power.

If I have a complaint, it's that they could have done the whole movie with just the Batman and the Joker, and I'dve been pleased. However, the film-maker has a long history in special effects/creature makeup (former Stan Winston acolyte), so it make sense.

And I LIKED the Batman/Predator fight. It just would have been nice to have a little more foreshadowing for the appearance of the xenomorphs.

How are people able to view the 160 MB .mpeg file?
It says it requires QT 6.3, but both me and my friend both have it, but still can't view the file...

Same here, reaper. I downloaded the 160MB file and when I launch Quicktime 6.3 to view it, it tells me that I'm missing a necessary component I need in order to view it. I went back to the QT site and made sure that all of the components that weren't installed now were and the Batman mpeg still won't play. Oh well.

The 41MB file plays fine, though. In fact I'm waching a VCD I made of it on my DVD player right now. Tres cool.

Update: Apparently it's a Windows Media Player file. At least that's how my friend got it to work on his PC. I've got a Mac and can't even get it to play in WMP for the Mac. Go figure  Anyway, my good buddy has burned a SVCD of the bigger file for me and is sending it post-haste. Right on!

you may not have the proper codec. Just a guess. As to what the proper codec would be... I haven't the foggiest sorry.

yep, you can, in fact, download DivX 5.0x and only install the codec if you don't really want the player. very very useful for obtaining most of the codecs out there.
