The PH is setup for the good guys.

Is that necessarily true? We know that it is possible to have evil paladins now, after all (and both tieflings and warlocks seem to support the option for 'heroes' who are more grey in outlook).

Anyhow, back on track...

It seems likely that each of the classes will have two 'sub classes', the basis of the "builds" that takes the class in one direction or another.

They are just suggestions (like 3.0 "starting packages") and in no way they bind the player to choose certain powers or features rather than others.

How about the DCF :) ?

So the Rogue DCF is brutal scoundrel or artful dodger

The Warlord DCF is inspiring presence or tactical presence
I think I would prefer the term "paths" "talents".

So, the Rogue paths talents are brutal scoundrel or artful dodger, the Warlord paths talents are inspiring presence or tactical presence, and in the PH, you get a suggested build for each path talent.

EDIT: Just realized that "paths" could be confused with the paragon paths. :p

You misunderstand.

I'm not talking about the builds per se, I'm talking about the sub-classing, the DCF (distinguishing class feature) which you choose that puts you on either the artful dodger path or the brutal scoundrel path.

These DCF (or sub-classes) are used as the basis for the builds... they give a suggested build for each of the sub-classes.

It is the sub-classes that I'm talking about in this thread.

Cheers

There isn't one for two weapon fighting?

Not as per Races & Classes - it seems likely that two weapon fighting (and archery) are seen as 'ranger' schticks

... of course, 'Class training' will probably make it possible for fighters to pick up two weapon fighting should they so desire, I imagine.

From the Paragon Paths excerpt, my guesses are something along the lines of:

Wizard
Arcane Implement Mastery
> Wands.
> Rods.
> Staves.

Ranger
Fighting Style
> Two Blade
> [Archery]

Warlock
Pact
> Star
> Fey
> Infernal
