Those Wacky D&D Tables

I needed the Wandering Prostitute table to settle something....but it brings up a bigger convo about the wierd, wild, and wacky tables throughout the editions of D&D. So present them, discuss them...and why Gygax's obsession was so darn compelling!

I also found this:

And found it hilarious. Discuss Gygaxian vague precision and how tables gave the 1e feel! :)

Man, there's some serious hate-on for 3E in there. But yes, it does go to show how great the original DMG is. I can open it at random every time and find something new and awesome... and I think I might need to make use of that random book table. Sounds relevant to my game.

Demiurge out.

Strangely, I miss the tables. Even the To-Hit tables. Not that I'd ever go back to that system, but thinking about them brings back fond memories of my early gaming days.
