Ties that Bind - 3.5 Forgotten Realms Gestalt

Hee hee

Actually, I've been editing. I just noticed no one else has rogue levels.

Thus, you will see that I have indeed added the Big Three rogue skills, and pumped them a bit with some cheapie magic items to reasonable levels. The Ring of Lockpicks even lets me use Knock 1/day, for those pesky Arcane Locks.

I'm also adding a small list of humanoid forms to my Favored Forms list, since I shan't be skittering around as a Chuul ALL the time. And some humanoids have good racial abilities and skill bonuses.

I also removed the Warshaper stat bonuses from base form figures. Final touches should be done sometime tonight. Thanks again for all the help, everyone. Getting all these rules straight can be a hassle, but FAR better to get them organized now than during play!

Indeed. Remember that the best base humanoid forms are usually the ones that balance a physical stat boost with a mental penalty, since you can then ignore the penalty. For instance, shifting to an orc with +4 Str and -2 to all mental stats is better than an elf.

Even with only our characters we have enough melee power to waste a tank in a round. I can help with your AC with polymorph, and also help with party defense with Improved invisibility, Displacement and Mass fire shield. Would be good if you prepare one or two defensive spells: I have Protection against energy, but a Mass resist energy would be great. Your character isn´t very mobile, I think, but that shouldn´t be a problem with the other two of us able to dimension door and teleport all over the place.

I can easily change that spell list; I've also been debating dropping a feat (mayhaps Great Cleave) to take Domain Sponteneity for... probably the Strength Domain. Then I wouldn't need to prepare most of my favorite buff spells; I could just convert-o-cast them instead.

Also, I don't think that Bruggin would take kindly to being polymorphed, I'm afraid... and like I tried to point out, he doesn't particularly need super high AC; with his offensive abilities, he can pretty much level most opponents before they get to hit him.

Which brings to mind the fact that the other group is laying down strategies; my MSN is master_wallwalker@hotmail.com, gents. I think we ought to get together and knock heads, see what ideas spill out.

EDIT: And before I forget, yeah, he's kinda slow... but what on earth do you suppose those wands of CLW are for? :P Not for healing; he's sort of a smoker, in a sense, and wands are his favorite sort of "pipe". Spellfire has a 400 ft range. :)

Oh most definitely. Though I'm less concerned with stats on humanoid forms than I am with special abilities. For example, an elf form might spike my HP a bit...but also has good senses. On the other hand, a Drow has all the bonuses of an elf, AND an excellent SR rating...AND 120' darkvision. Duergar have some great immunities as well! I even statted kobolds out, for their Search bonus...but then I saw the Minotaur...which is VERY nice. As a Minotaur, I can take 10 on Seach checks for a result of 30. :) Add that to their Spot and Listen bonuses, plus Scent, and they're one of the best "sense" forms around...with the possible exception of a destrachan, for that sweet +10 Listen and 100' Blindsight.

For combat, I'll still be using a 'tank' form...and since I can shift so fast, I don't usually have to worry about getting caught with my pants down. So to speak. :)

@shayuri-Just remember that if you buy a hat of disguise then you can take on pretty much any medium size and still make yourself look like a "standard race."

Hmm....I'm tempted to send you a list of compiled forms for the MMF, but I'm kinda scared. Do you already have an idea of what form(s) you will use in combat?

I've put together quite a list already. Check out the "favored forms" spoiler block for stats.

As I gain levels, more hit dice levels and creature types will open up.

You get Supernatural abilities, right? do you have Choker yet?

Nice list. Also, I think I was unclear about this point, but MMII and MMIII are allowed sources as well. I have a bad habit of treating them as core and so I don't think I listed them specifically as allowed sources in the OP. This may give you more options (ie War Troll). Also, if you ask about particular forms, I may allow certain things from the Fiend Folio.

As you said in your response to Rystil, you get Ex abilities, but not Su, so the choker won't be too useful as a form (Quickness is a supernatural ability).

Oops! I misread his post.

I thought he meant Cloaker. A cloaker's sonic abilities are Ex. That's what I meant. :)

Unfortunately, I only have MM1...but perhaps this is a good opportunity for me to check out some of these other books and see what they have to offer. :)
