Ties that Bind - 3.5 Forgotten Realms Gestalt

I just added a Wand of CLW to Corund's equipment.

I think our best strategy in a fight is to hit-and-run. Certainly each of our characters has the ability to get out of Dodge and regroup, to simply come back again and attack again. Dropping a few summoned shadow monsters or an acid fog is a nice way to soften anyone up. If we can't cut and run, Jonas can tank quite nicely, and Cassandra and Corund can skirmish or support. And quite frankly, with good stealth skills, they should be able to bypass many useless fights and strike where it counts most.
Cassandra has no real stealth and she can't really escape well either. However, she can summon very powerful constructs and her attacks do large amounts of unavoidable damage.

Does Cassandra have any ability to become invisible? Because if she does, he can Dimension Door her around with him. Or she can cast Silence on a stone and carry it around at critical junctures.

For escaping, again, get next to Corund and DD away, or get near Jonas when he wildshapes into something that can fly or move fast, and ride like the Lone Ranger outta there.

She can't do Invisibility. Silence she can get from Cleric, barely, but it doesn't work so well nor does it last long at all.

Hit-and-run is a really bad idea for her, since she'll run out of Power Points if the fight is broken up too much and she has to rebuff.

Hmm... Sounds like Cassandra would work best as a sort of fortified "root" of a major battle, protected by immobile defense spells and fighting through those constructs. I could easily tank a bit...then convert to a fast form to rejoin Cassandra and heal up a bit...then go back into the fray. That sort of thing.

What's Cassandra's caster level and manifester level? I'm not familiar with her PrC's.

Cleric Caster Level = 4
Psion Manifester Level = 12

You're probably right--She can get her AC to 50 if she tries and deal large unavoidable (except by DR) area damage or some devastating stat damage. The constructs are just icing :)

Congrats to those that got in - it looks like a lot of fun. I'll be rooting for you, and watching the OOC thread for a while.

Have Fun - I look forward to when I can join in!

Keep in mind that even if you do adopt the heal after battle strategy, wands of lesser vigor are always superior to CLW (unless you have fast healing already). For characters with fast healing though, after combat healing is moot anyway.

As Rystil points out though, a hit-and-run strategy can neutralize the power of a psion in the group. Either way, it is good to see you all getting a strategy worked out. :)

@shayuri-Ok, something I forgot to ask about before, but seems pretty important. I'm assuming you will be in wild shape most of the time (just stop me if that is a bad assumption), so let me ask few questions. Also, I think I asked someone about this upstream somewhere and if it was you and the issue has already be resolved, then let me know and we will move on.
  • Are the stats you have listed for your human form?
  • If so, why the high Con?
  • You have rogue levels, allowing you to serve as the party skill-monkey (note you don't have one), but no skills in the various "rogue" skills. It seems like one solution would be to drop 4 points off physical stats and put them in Int for more skill points. What do you think about this?

but no skills in the various "rogue" skills

You can confidently let Cassandra handle the Charisma-based skills. Frankly, she even could have picked up the Hide/Move Silently skills too with her 147 skill points, but it just isn't right for her concept.

Hmm...I think Cassandra may be one of the only characters ever where it really fits to have the Weak Will flaw (from being nearly overwhelmed by the illithid symbiont) and the Iron Will feat (from the training in Limbo). Yay for -1 to Will saves!
