yeah - on the sword

So far I've cast cure wounds on Loklafd (outside the cave, before our level up) and then detect magic on the sword - 2/3 until we get a long rest... fun

Theoretically, you could have cast Detect Magic as a Ritual, but then, everyone would have spent longer in the first lake... IDK. Probably best to leave it as a Spell Slot so as not to have to think about how that might have changed things. But you've probably still got around 5 minutes left or so.
