To Catch a Crimelord, or Down the Rabbit Hole (garyh judging)

ooc: scratch the thunder attack. My bad.

Kruk moves to a strategic location and then charges Kadaj with weapon drawn. He hits the foe with a minor wound and then swings again. His attack strikes true with a sickening thud to the midsection of Kadaj.

[sblock=attack]
movement: move to I12
attack: charge to Kadaj 1d20+9+1= 23 from N11 for 1d10+5 = 6 hp damage

AP: Brash Strike: 1d20+11 vs AC = 31 crit: damage = 18 points plus 1d6 = 2 for 20 points damage

Combat advantage is granted to Kadaj until the start of my next turn

From behind her tree of cover, Carolina leans out and deftly tosses her dagger towards Mr. X. She aims low, hoping to knee-cap him and send him staggering into his own dark flames.

[sblock=Actions]Move: none
Standard: Positioning Strike vs. Mr. X; 1d20+9-2 hits WILL 18 for 6 damage (Roll Lookup); If the attack hits, the target slides three squares into the fire (to L13).
Minor: None[/sblock]

Georg catches the wind from the giant zombie's blow at Raiyek. He moves back away from the creature and towards the surrounded Lily. Move back Lily he shouts Back foul shadowspawn. He slams his staff into the ground, sending a thundering roar at the zombie, Havastav and Brutus that flies over all of their heads. He shouts in frustration and tries again, but only catches the zombie.

To help Lily see, his staff ignites with light.

[sblock=OOC]Delay until after Lily.
Move: Walk to F8, avoiding AoO
Standard: Enlarged Thunderwave from G8 to J5
To Hit Rolls (vs Fortitude) were 11, 10, 8!
I was going to push at least a few of them into the mud. ARGH!
Try it again with an AP
1d20+6=17 (vs zombie 57 Fort) hit kills or I push 3 squares to J11
1d20+6=12 (vs Havastav Fort)
1d20+6=8 (vs Brutus Fort)
1d6+3=7 (thunder damage)

Understood! How about some light while you're at it.

[sblock=ooc]

Pretty please, it'll help my accuracy. :)
Hurm, using a ready action might be more efficient than delaying if renau1g will let you change it.

Waiting for Lord Sessadore's post before I decide what exactly to do.

[sblock=ooc]
I'm fine either way. I won't be updating until Monday with all liklihood so feel free to modify minor details up until then[/sblock]

[sblock=Tactics]Ouch, that zombie hits like a ton of bricks. :-S I think we should take down either the zombie or the Havastav first, to keep them from taking out Lily. I'm tempted to go for the zombie first since he hits so hard, but he also probably has more hp. What do you guys think?

I was hoping my channel divinity would free me up so I could charge someone and then burn an AP, but I'm still stuck. Some healing would be nice since Kadaj seems to have it out for me, but I think Lily's more of a priority. Healing without using a surge would be the best (since I'm down to 3 now), but I don't know what Oni would rather do.

If anyone still has dailies left, this would be the fight to use them in ;) I'll be burning Paladin's Judgment as soon as I have an opportunity and someone within 5 squares of me is hurt.[/sblock]
Raiyek stands back up after the massive blow from Brutus, coughing up some blood and staggering to keep his balance. Still shaky on his feet from Kadaj's attack the paladin can't do more than whisper a prayer to Palladys and try to steel himself for the zombie's next onslaught. "Lily, stay back! Don't give this brute a chance at you," he calls. "We need to take down one of these three quickly before they overwhelm us."
[sblock=Actions]Regen 2 since I'm bloodied.

Move: stand.
Minor: Channel Divinity: Divine Mettle to give myself a save with +2 bonus. 1d20+2=5. Guess I'm still stuck.
Standard: Second Wind. Regain 9 hp and +2 to all defenses TSNT.

Save vs. immob (1d20=18). Why couldn't I have had that roll the first time? :([/sblock][sblock=Raiyek stats]Raiyek Meliam - Male Elf Paladin (Palladys) 3

[sblock=battle tactics and question for DM]
I know this is a stretch, but can Kruk choose a different mob to hit, keeping his same attack rolls and damage rolls? Renau1g you aren't updating your badguys until Monday right? Let me know. That way I can help out Lily.

Alternative attack if accepted by Renaulg...If not, i understand.

Kruk, seeing that Lily is introuble comes charging to her aide. "Agghhhhh! Move back you best don't even think about harming the girl." His attack pushes Havastav backwards a step (I hope). Kruk takes advantage of the foes momentary lapse of concentration by unleashing another blow, this one causing great pain to the foe.

[sblock=actions]

this attack would occur after Lily's attack

movement: move to f7
attack: attack Tide of Iron on Havastav 1d20+9+1= 23 (this would be a 22 because no +1 for charge) If it hits, hit target for 6 hp damage push target to H6, taking his spot at G6

AP: Brash Strike: 1d20+11 vs AC = 31 crit: damage = 18 points plus 1d6 thunder damage = 2 for 20 points damage

Combat advantage is granted to Havastav until the start of my next turn

mark Havastav

Lily ducked away from the zombie on her flank while Lith launched its amorphous form at the thing called Brutus. Brutus proved to be surprisingly resilient however. Meanwhile Lily called upon the healing powers of the local spirits, trying to undo some of the damage done to Raiyek and herself.

[sblock=ooc]

start of turn: regen 2 to be at 10 HP

move: Lily shifts to F6, Lith moves to I4

standard: Watcher's Strike: vs Ref [Target: Brutus] (1d20+5-2=7)
I'm guessing that's a miss.

minor: Healing Spirit on Lily, spend a surge regain 7 HP. Raiyek is healed for (1d6+1=5)

[sblock=Lily's Spirit Primer (Please Read!)]
Spirit companions are complex critters, so this is to remind everyone, myself included, of the important points. The first three items are probably the most relevant to the other players.
  • Any of Lily's allies who start their turn adjacent to her spirit companion can shift 1 square as a free action, as the first action during their turn.
  • Any of Lily's allies adjacent to her spirit companion gain a +3 bonus to their damage rolls against bloodied enemies.
  • Lily's spirit companion occupies 1 square, Lily's allies may move through its space, but her enemies may not.
  • Lily's spirit companion may be targeted by melee and ranged attacks. If a single attack deals 10 or more damage to Lily's spirit companion it disappears and Lily takes 5 damage. Otherwise her spirit companion is unaffected by the attack.
  • Lily's spirit companion uses Lily's defenses.
  • Any enemy that leaves a square adjacent to Lily's spirit companion without shifting is subject its Spirit Fang attack. (This is an opportunity action and so may used once per turn, rather than once per round. Since there is no reason not to take this attack DM please feel free to roll them as necessary.)
  • Lily's spirit companion is unaffected by terrain and environmental phenomena.
