TIL there is an “adult” parody of The Wizard of Oz. This is not intrinsically surprising- mainstream intellectual property often spawns adult homages and porn knockoffs- in fact, there’s more than one for TWoO.

But this one from 2013 stands out because the producers actually took the time and effort to make their movie a musical. I repeat- a musical. One of the few clips I’ve seen from it featured a song by the Lion, questioning his sexuaity. There’s vocal parts for the Tin Man, The Scarecrow and Dorothy…and they do at least as good a job singing as a community theater group.

This isn’t some R-rated sex-romp B-movie comedy. I looked- it is definitely X-rated.

Given how the adult film industry usually approaches filmmaking, this is a mind-boggling decision. It costs money. It requires more investment in talent and skill, on-screen and off screen. It takes up time that the vast bulk of adult films would rather devote to other practices.

Porn parodies have been done for a while lol.

Was it just a musical with explicit graphic sex, or was it pornographic in the sense of being about the sex? Because I have seen movies before that have done the former; the musical comedy Live Freaky, Die Freaky has two explicit (albeit animated; but we still see everything, so still explicit) sex scenes, but it's not about sex

I haven’t actually watched the whole movie-just clips- so I can’t say definitively.

I’m not sure your distinction makes a big difference to most viewers though. And actually making the distinction might be ha…ummm…difficult.

Theoretically, if someone were a dedicated student of the musical in all its forms, as well as being an aficionado of Baum adaptations, what sorts of title key words might be useful in such scholarly pursuits?
You could probably find it with the info given thus far.☺️

I’m aware of that; I was surprised that someone would commit to doing a full-on pornographic musical.
It has been done before. Alice in Wonderland - An X-rated Musical Fantasy was made in 1976. But then, that was back when porn still had ambition to be art, in its own arousing way. It’s just a lot more cost effective to make tons of minimalist stroke material so the commitment has become rare.

Seriously, the people behind the Oz porno were going against many of that industry’s trends.
