Out of the hundreds of topics about 5e, some people hating somethings, some people liking others. I don't have a clear view on what people actually think of the system. So here's a simple vote. Is it going to be better or worse than previous editions. I'm intentionally not putting the same or any sort of ambiguous choices, because I want to know on a fundamental level how you think this edition will turn out compared to others. If you aren't sure flip a coin, or force yourself to pick one or the other.

Think of this poll like voting. We don't know who is going to be the better president, but we still vote based on what they have told us and who we THINK will be the best president. We can't possibly know until it's out, so from what you know, do you think this edition will be a step forward or a step backwards from the previous editions.

Two problems with this:

1) It's not out yet, so tough to compare. Can one say if Guardians of the Galaxy is better or worse than the other Marvel moves from the previews?

2) Better or worse than all other editions? That's tough to do, even for the opinionated.

That's fine if you can't vote. But we do know a lot about the game with recent interviews etc. This, obviously would be a sort of "With what you know do you think this edition is a step forward or a step back". Sort of like a primary poll. /shrug.

Binary option on a non binary question--even if 5E was out, and even if it was simply the second of two editions rather than the 7.5th completely distinct edition, there's the possibility that the two could be equal, or better WRT some things and worst WRT others.

It will not be better, or worse. Like vanilla is not better or worse than chocolate. It is just a bit different, and that's okay.

Just from the playtest, it will be my favorite edition. This includes the fact that I despise several things already set to be in the game. It's modular nature should allow me to take the best aspects of each edition (IMO) and minimize the effect of aspects I hate. Even if the official modules don't allow for it, it's pretty easy to homebrew.
