Touch Attack Spells

Continuing my questions on touch attack oriented spells.

After reading more, I think I've been running them entirely wrong. If I cast a spell like Chill Touch or Vampiric Touch, that simply gives me the ability to use those touch attacks, like a charge. So if I cast Vampiric Touch one round and grab at the enemy on the next and miss that attack, I do not lose the Vampiric Touch. In fact, I don't lose it until I touch something and discharge it?

Is this correct?

Yes. You can either hold the charge on a touch attack spell or even if you use it and miss, i.e. the spell is not discharged, then you still maintain the spell.

Yes, although it should be noted that chill touch is something of a special case as it allows multiple touches within a duration, and loses it's charge when the duration runs out.

You can cast the spell and attack with it in the same round. If that attack misses you can indeed attack with in on the next and subsequent rounds, and keep trying 'till you hit or give up!

Correct.

Note that some spells - like Chill Touch - actually allow you multiple touches before they are fully discharged, so you can keep making touch attacks round after round, even if you hit.

Also, keep in mind the possibility for critical hits with your touch attack spells.
