Tournament of Champions CR .5 to 5 (Archive)

OOC: Spot and Listen are both reactive (no action required), though you can conciously retry them as move actions in the same round (each, so I would suggest just using Listen). Note that you get a free reactive check each round (not once at the beginning). To spot someone invisible within 30ft, you have to make a DC 20 check. You know he's around, though, so that's not really necessary. To pinpoint him, you need to make a DC 40 Spot check. Forget it at this CR. To Listen for him "somewhere over there", however, is much easier. You just need to beat his Move Silently, which he gets -5 for chainmail and -5 for moving quickly (at least). You get -2 or so for distance. If you beat him by 20, you pinpoint his location and could attack.

Hujarlk paces to the south, holding his sword up and looking around.

(MEA to 20N20E, Readied action: move to opponent (adjacent if close enough) if he reappears)

Thanks everyone!

OOC: ...and, it's go time...

Drek shifts the XBow to one hand, then moves to 40n 5e. While doing so, he readies his shield. When he stops, he fires one-handed, in the hopes his enlarged XBow can skewer his hefty opponent before that sword comes into play. [attack at -2, damage 2d6]

OOC: OK, I've been resisting to this point - but I now officially request that a d20 instead of a d2 be used for my ToC attacks. ;-)

OOC: Whoops, I don't know why I didn't see that this had new posts on my subscription. Sorry for holding you in suspense!

The half-giant's readied move takes him to 35N10E, a huge grin on his face as he closes with steady paces. His opponent has gotten much bigger in the meantime, however, so perhaps some caution is merited.

Then the greatsword descends with all of his might. Will it be another short fight for the brawny warrior?

(Okay, so readied move from last round which actually does leave him adjacent and sadly denying him the Charge option. So the next round is a simple Smash! style full attack - if only I had multiple attacks it would matter...)

(OOC: Rough luck, Drek!)
