Knowing that he has very little chance to win the battle while the musteval is underground, Protectar II shoots up into the sky, away from the smaller celestial's arcane projectiles.

Flying as high up as possible, to pursue a draw.

OOC: Since I should be operating blind while underground, I'm going to post my next two moves in an sblock. Gelharin, like in the previous round, will be underground for a turn, then back up. We'll likely need an adjudication from Gansk.

First turn: MEA from 120N60E-5Z to 120N40E-5Z
Second turn: Pop up at 120N40E0Z, try to judge distance to flying Protectar II, if less than 130" then fire magic missiles. If not, cast Invisibility and move (walking on the surface) towards being under him.

Round 1: Protectar flies to 115N0E40Z.

Round 2: Protectar flies to 115N0E80Z.

Round 3: Gelharin pops up at 115N40E and fires. Protectar takes 7 and falls to his death.

"The winner by TKO in three rounds and CR 2 Champion, Gelhaaaaaaaaaaaarin!"

"Come back next week when we will start the CR 3 edition of the Tournament of Champions. Lots and lots of monsters will have a chance in this one, so it should be close."

“Welcome back everyone, to the CR 3 edition of the Tournament of Champions! Our first quarterfinal match features the best of the Lawful Neutral forces against the best of the Chaotic Neutral forces.”

Making its way into the arena and starting at position 60N0E, this combatant measures 3 feet long and weighs 120 pounds. It is undefeated in the main battle, with an impressive record of four wins, zero losses, and one draw. It managed to defeat Neutral’s Ethereal Dragon Wyrmling, coming within a hair’s breadth of defeat, and still managed a draw against a Boar Topiary Guardian. Representing the forces of Lawful Neutral, please welcome the crysmal Gemmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmo!”

Gemmo enters to the polite applause of the Lawful Neutral faction of the audience. It appears to be a scorpion fashioned out of green crystal. There is no hint of any intelligence in its appearance or manner.

“And now making her way into the arena and starting at position 60N115E, this combatant measures 4 feet long and weighs 50 pounds. She has a record of three wins, one loss, and zero draws in the main battle. In a brilliant display of courage, she defeated Neutral’s locust swarm and barely notched a victory against a gas spore before it exploded, ending her run. Representing the forces of Chaotic Neutral, please welcome the very young sand dragon Saaaaaaandy Twoooooooooooooooooo!”

The hoots and hollers of the Chaotic Neutral faction welcome Sandy II’s entrance. This sandy-brown dragon has a mass of thick, short, yellowish horns, like an inverted pincushion. Her wings look almost like fins, attached by thick spines all the way down her body from the base of her skull to the end of her tail. She looks sleek, but spiky. Her coloring makes it such that she could blend into the sand in the arena quite easily.

Psybo communicates telepathically to the two combatants. “Gemmo, you will have initiative in the first round unless the Lawful Neutral representative tells me otherwise.”

Ding Ding! Round 1!

Gemmo scuttles to 60N30E.

[sblock]Gemmo readies mind thrust for when Sandy II gets within 30 feet. It inflicts 2d10 points of mind-affecting damage, with a Will save negating (DC 3 + d20).[/sblock]

Sandy resists a migraine as she approaches. (Rolled 14 Will save).

Gemmo dodges (rolled 21) and takes 3 points of damage from the grit. It has 30 hp left.

Sandy can breathe again in round 4.

Round 2!

Gemmo stays where it is.

[sblock]Gemmo hits Sandy with another mind thrust. It inflicts 2d10 points of mind-affecting damage, with a Will save negating (DC 3 + d20).[/sblock]
