Tournament of Champions CR .5 to 5 (Archive)

Ferris hits all three times! (Lowest roll - 10?!) Once again, his claws do not penetrate Benedict's skin, even though one claw was a critical hit, but Ferris' bite does 3 points of damage. Benedict is at -2 hp and dying. Total defense? I don't think so.

Ding Ding Ding!

"The winnah, after three rounds by standard victory, Feeeerrrrrris!"

PJS, you can redeem yourself by representing LG or CE. Which one would you like?

Ferris keeps tearing into Benedict even after the bell rings. Two large ogres wearing mithril chain shirts and tabards bearing the symbols and colors of the Shearing Pen enter and quickly grab a tight grip on the feral slasher. Ferris snarls ferociously, but he is dragged out of the arena nonetheless.

A cleric of Pelor steps into the arena to quickly administer healing to the bladeling. A note of apology is sent to General PJS from General I2K, but the note is . . . "lost" in transit.

I will take LG. CE was too easy last time, and I need a challenge, although maybe not as big a challenge as trying to beat General I2K with Lawful Neutral.

“Now continuing on to our second quarterfinal match of the CR 1 edition of the Tournament of Champions! This match features the best of the Chaotic Good forces against the best of the Lawful Evil forces.”

Making his way into the arena and starting at position 115N115E, this combatant measures 1 foot 6 inches tall and weighs 8 pounds. He has a record of zero wins, zero losses, and one draw in the main battle, fighting valiantly with Neutral’s scary krenshar. This bloodless creature was created by the half-elf arcane trickster Ziz. Ziz is also famous for …… uhhhhhhhhh, ask him yourself! He’s right up there in the stands, in the first row to your right. Anyway, representing the forces of Chaotic Good, please welcome the homunculus Heiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinrich!”

Heinrich the Bloodless enters to the wild cheers of the Chaotic Good faction of the audience. He is a vaguely humanoid form, but with tiny wings that span about two feet. His skin looks rough and warty, and he has a mouth full of needlelike teeth.

“Now making his way into the arena and starting at position 0N0E, this combatant measures 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 146 pounds. He is a former Hall of Famer in the main battle, with a record of one win, zero losses, and one draw. In his draw, he faced the formidable nixie (snicker). He also hails from the plane of Acheron, but he assures me that in no way is he related to that loser Benedict. Representing the forces of Lawful Evil, please welcome the bladeling Bobbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbbb!”

The polite applause of the Lawful Evil faction welcome Bob the Bladeling as he is shoved into the arena by his superiors. The xenophobic creature's purple eyes flash with hatred towards all the creatures in the arena and the gallery. His dull, spine-covered, metallic skin showing the scars of many battles, he bares a mouthful of pointy black teeth and draws a
wicked-looking longsword. Just audible to the scrying-bots is a low cockney grumble: "Who needs a shave?"

Psybo communicates telepathically to the two combatants. “Bob, remember my private instructions to you earlier. Heinrich will have the initiative in the first round unless the Chaotic Good representative tells me otherwise.”

“Making his way into the arena and starting at position 115N115E, this combatant measures 2 feet tall and weighs 20 pounds. He has a record of two wins, one loss, and zero draws in the main battle, including a victory over former Hall of Famer spider swarm. He himself is a former Hall of Fame inductee. He promises ‘balls of fiery death‘ to everyone and is looking forward to strutting his stuff and, ahem, ’scoring with some hot momma‘ when the contest is over. Representing the forces of Chaotic Good, please welcome the domovoi Dommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!”

Dom enters to the wild cheers of the Chaotic Good faction of the audience. He is a hairy human with dark, sooty skin. He has hairy arms, a thick beard, and furry legs, chest, and back. He wears simple rags and has no weapons or armor.

“Now making his way into the arena and starting at position 0N0E, this combatant measures 4 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. He is undefeated in the main battle, with a record of one win, zero losses, and one draw. Everyone was pleased when he fought Neutral’s confusing tirapheg to a draw. Representing the forces of Lawful Evil, please welcome the duergar Drrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrek!”

The polite applause of the Lawful Evil faction accompanies Drek the Duergar’s entrance. Bald and gray, he wears drab chain mail with a heavy shield strapped to his back. A war hammer hangs from his belt as he loads his light crossbow.

Psybo communicates telepathically to the two combatants. “Dom, you have the initiative unless the Chaotic Good representative tells me otherwise.”

“Cue the music. Let’s get ready to rumbuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuull!”

Ding Ding! Round 1!

Drek disappears from view, then moves to 5n 20e.

[General Ugulu peers into the arena, curious as to why warrior #1 didn't make it in, but is confident that Drek, the #2, can handle the load]
