TURTLEDOME!: Battle Bone (DM: KenHood, Judge: Lord S.)

[sblock=Oh yeah]I knew there was a reason I didn't just move back and charge every round. If you want, you can just subtract 1 from the to-hit (-2 because the bonus would go from +9 to +7; however, I forgot to add the +1 for charging) and subtract 4 from the damage.[/sblock]

Bad News

[sblock=mohalloran]Since Vaunea has a movement rate of 5, she can only reach J8 -- unless she runs, then she suffers a -5 penalty to attack.

She can't go diagonal from K4 to J5 because of the left brain topography. She has to move from K4 to J4 (1 square), then J4 to J8 (4 squares).

It stinks, because that's a pretty doggone cinematic moment.

Do you want her to run?

Also, can't you use the cow horn head-butt power at the end of a charge?[/sblock]

[sblock='KenHood']Well, that's why I wasn't sure of the charge. I didn't know if I could jump as part of the charge, in a heroic type movement (I made a 23 Athletics instead of 10 to cover the one square as part of a charge. :D...I had to try). The squares travelled are J4, J5, J6, J7, J8, J9, J10, I11, H12, G12. The -5 causes too much of a penalty to hit, even for poor Vaunea, since it would be on all attacks until the end of her next turn. If you deem I can't charge, then I guess I can't.

But now who's being the jerk. ;)[/sblock]

[sblock=Neuroscience?]Hey, if we can't move around diagonally because of of the left-brain tomography, does that mean we can't move straight because of right-brain tomography? Like, we teleport around? [/sblock]

Go Finnian, it's yours! says Hadarai as he drives the last small rat into Finnian's perfect swordcut.
The last of the annoying mice reduced to a scrap of torn paper, the Eladrin runs to the edge of the chasm, then jumps to the other side, only to discover that space works even more strangely there. With a simple thought, he finds himself roughly where he would have expected to reach with a swift run.
Support coming, Vaunea!

[sblock=actions]Commander's strike with Finnian:26 vs AC; jump across (Athletics 17), then teleport to I11[/sblock]

Round 3

[sblock=mohalloran]Oooooooh, I get it. You're taking advantage of the non-linear nature of the right side. Heck, I coudn't not permit that.[/sblock]
[sblock=Reklaw]
Nice one Mo... Gimme stuff Ken!
Okay!

Poof! Your character has a goiter the size of a football.[/sblock]

Round 3 (continued)...
Both of Finnian's attacks at the little paper rat miss.

The origami rat holds its dew-claw and first digit in a perpendicular fashion, placing them against its forehead. All the lettering on its body turns to "Ha! Ha! Ha!"

With a dismayed caw, Erlai holds his position.

A big, worn, leather boot falls from the sky and hits Emral in the head. It has a letter shoved into a hole in the toe.

Vaunea vaults the chasm and charges the Memory Rat. She vanishes and suddenly reappears in front of the creature, giving it a great axe handshake. (13 damage)

The minotaur strikes Memory Rat a second time (8 damage), before teleporting a short distance and swinging at Vocabulary Rat in its hole. Her axe bites torn papier mache as Vocabulary Rat ducks its head.

Under Hadarai's direction, Finnian's blade cleaves the troublesome origami rat. As the two halves of the imaginary beast fall, the word shift to...

I was laughing with you. Not at you.

Hadarai once again abandons a companion, leaping over the rat's body and the chasm. He teleports closer to Vaunea's pair of rats.

[sblock=Action]Freezing Cloud v. Fortitude (1d20+5=8, 1d8+5=7)[/sblock]
With the words "I think I can! I think I can!" scrolling across its paper skin, the last little origami rat weathers the cold and shifts out of the freezing cloud. It bites at Emral.

[sblock=Action]Move: Shift to H4.
Standard: Bite - v. AC (1d20+6=7)[/sblock]
And misses.

Drivan's turn!

Make sure you all post if you're using non-lethal attacks, even you have already done so. I'm old and tend to forget things.

[sblock=ooc]Isn't Emral dazed? I thought the save last round was for the ongoing damage, not the dazed condition.

if Dazed: Saving throw: 1d20=2, which doesn't work.
then Chaos Bolt to Origami Rat 25: 1d20+4=18, 1d10+4=5

If *not* dazed: then use the 2 as the first attack roll, which misses, then AP for a second Chaos Bolt. No need to roll the follow-up attack for the even roll, as there are no foes nearby.

EDIT: Either way, the chaos bolts are non-lethal.

Can't grab the boot while the rat is on me, but will get to it soon.[/sblock]

[sblock=Interesting...]A goiter the size of a football could make for some interesting RPng... Thanks! :-p btw, I had to look that one up, had no idea what a goiter looked like... [/sblock]

Drivan shouts across the chasm, "Give 'em hell! We'll finish off this one, don't worry about us!"

Drivan tosses a magic missile at the Origami Rat with a casual ease... Too casual it seems as the magic missile seems to wobble rather like a wounded duck as it flies in the general direction of the Origami Rat that thought he could.

[sblock=Action]Magic Missile vs AC 13, Damage 8[/sblock]

[sblock=goiter] Wow. I guess it explains the Int score being higher than Cha. What are we naming this guy? And does this mean you're eligible for the Familiar feat?

Anyway, using the ooc action above: AP or no AP [/sblock]

Emral takes the boot to the head, shaking himself and trying to regain his senses. He does this just in time to avoid the bite of the nearby origami rat, pulling his leg away from paper jaws whose cut *might not be noticeable, until you move, or hold lemon juice, or whatever, then ouch!*.
Another ball of spinning geometry forms between his hands. taking an extra moment to align himself with the rat's motion he throw the multipolyhedron at the rat, smashing the form into dozens of angles, lines and points.
