does anyone know or remember a tv show (live or animated) where a sword that did something cool and ejected a cartridge of some kind?

Oh, that sounds vaguely familiar, but I couldn't tell you what it was off the top of my head.

I think I found it. It was movie called Cyber Ninja, a sci-fi samurai mix where there is a kanta called Soul Sword that had small capsules that released an electrical charge when struck.

Does anyone remember a cartoon He-Man/Thundar clone from the 80's where the main character's sword & the BBEG's sword could be combined to form a single more powerful weapon?

Wasn't everything in that cartoon crystaline? The people were living gem people or something and the crystal sword has been in one piece, but it broke into two swords.

BTW did Cyber Ninja have any redeeming values?

It would be consider a cult classic by no, but the story was interesting, effect was cheesey but hey it was low budget of the time, fight scenes were good and all.
