ok what happens when Cleric x has a ring of counterspells with dispel magic in and sorcerer y casts twinned dispel magic targeted at him

1) as the twinned dispel is one spell (matemagically enhanced) both are countered

2) only one half of the twinned dispel is countered

or is it something else?

Counterspelling Metamagic Spells
Metamagic feats are not taken into account when determining whether a spell can be countered

To resolve that, you have to decide whether the counterspelling occurs before or after the feat takes effect. Due to the above quote, I'd be inclined to say before.

The correct answer is 1) . It's even spelled out in the Twin Spell feat description.
