Well, lets check.
-More "prepared Spell".
-Subclass extra spells known.
-Draconic Subclass is stupidly strong now.
-Proficiency on constitution saving thow. This makes them the best counterspellers(and concentration) since the new Counterspell is a Con saving throw. In addition, sorcerers ignore Counterspell with Subtle Spell and still apply disadvantage in counterspell with Heightein Spell.
-More access to metamagic and practically all were buffed except Twin Spell.
- Advantage on all attack rolls, +1DC and apply 2 metamagies simultaneously.
-Regain SP on short rest.
- With the new rules "one Spell slot pern turn" transforms Sorcerers into real power machines using Wands, Staffs, Scrolls and still use Quicken Spell for more power.
You can Apply metamagic on Wands, Staffs, scrolls and other “casting” Magic items.
- Dragon Sorcerer + Wand of Fireboll + Quicken Fireball is just a small example of power

So they removed the bonus action spell + cantrip only restriction??

If so, very dumb of them.
Sort of? They changed the rule, now it’s that you can only cast one spell with a spell slot per turn. But, if you have a way to cast a non-cantrip spell without using a spell slot, you can do that and cast a non-cantrip bonus action spell in the same turn.

Yes one spell that uses a spell slot per turn now. Doesn't matter how many other leveled spells that you manage to cram in there as long as they are using something other than a spell slot.

yes. Its limited to one Spell Slot per turn. Its great for ending counterspell battle and Silvery Barbs on your own Spells. Other hand, quicken Spell is Golden.

The One Spell Slot rule does mean Psionic Sorcery can cast two leveled spells if you have an appropriate spell to cast. Note that Quicken Metamagic now restricts Level 1+ spells, so you can’t Psionic Sorcery and Quicken two leveled spells.

I am sad that Buffing/Support Sorcerers didn't get much love 💔.

Given how weak the Sorcerer was (compared to other full casters, I mean; it was still better than Fighter) in 5.0, and given the old Sorcerer's strongest tool was nerfed into the ground (Twinned), this seems more like "oh good, being a Sorcerer is no longer a straight-up downgrade compared to Wizard, Land Druid, Bard, or Cleric."

It does look good. Most powerful? I dont think so, but it strong enough to not make you regret taking the class.

I've had a dwarven dragon sorcerer pushing CON over CHA on the docket for a while, I'm curious to see how well it will do with the 2024 version.
