D&D General UA Release - Updated Subclasses

It strikes me that they're really updating nearly half the subclasses from Xanathar's Guide with all of these. There's a few getting left out, and a few that already got promoted to the PHB, but between all the UA releases there's been quite a lot. Especially if we take this Oathbreaker Paladin as a spiritual fusion with the Conquest Paladin.

I'm guessing Drunken Master or Drunk Monk didn't sounds right to someone.

That person, is wrong. A classic. I could tell you what likely happened, but then I'd get in trouble.

Whoa whoa whoa whoa WHOA.

HAVE THEY DROPPED MY PALADIN?

HAVE THEY DROPPED MY PALADIN?
The NPC Oathbreaker didn't have Tenets. This version does, and if you compare them to Conquest there's a decent amount of overlap. So if we go by the theory that the Conquest Paladin was to the 2014 Oathbreaker Paladin as the Grave Cleric was to the Death Cleric, then it makes a certain amount of sense to smush them together for a PC facing Oathbreaker.

I don't have your obvious attachment to the Conquest Paladin, so I think this version of the Oathbreaker is pretty cool. Decent mechanics, good flavor. And I'm pretty sure you can use the new Nystul's Magic Aura to get other PCs to qualify for Aura of Hate.

I wonder at what new books this hints at?
At this point, since May, they have tested way more new or updated Subclasses for next year than they did for Tasha's Cauldron of Everything.

It seems to be a mix of replacements for the remaining PHB (and now DMG!) Subclasses from 2014, replacing those from Xanathar's, and some new ideas. So a new Everything book that brings 2017 and earlier options into the 20s along with a bunch of new stuff, including a whole new Class.
