UA: Whirling Frenzy worth it?

Sorry. I houseruled it NOT to be possible... IMC you get that additional Whirling Frenzy attack only when doing the full attack action twist. Otherwise it's sooooo broken.

I do allow the Expert Tactician twist though. Kinda like it.

I probably have the wrong idea, but it looks like, from this thread, that the extra attack can be made as part of an attack action, not only a full attack. Am I crazy, or what?

One only gets the extra attack when taking a full attack. Same goes for weapons of speed or haste.

Right for haste and speed weapons, but the Whirling Frenzy description lacks this obviously sensible addition.

Read the 'Attack' and 'Full Attack' sections in the Combat chapter of the PHB. Unless you are making a 'Full Attack', you only get one attack.

Although certain feats provide exceptions to that rule.

Like Cleave. Or Improved Trip. Or Greater Manyshot. Or...

... well, you get the idea.

And usually, if something grants additional attacks in 3.5, it's written that it only applies during full attack actions (see haste). Which is not the case for Whirling Frenzy.
