Unbelievable!

So I have not posted here in over FIVE years. Yes, five. That's not the only surprising thing. I am surprised that a 4E update of Greyhawk still hasn't been done as 4E simply cries for the return of some serious megadungeons! Time to return to that, don't you think?

Greyhawk, I am sorry was nothing special.

Yes - I enjoyed it in previous editions (only 2nd really) but unlike Dragonlance & Ravenloft - it doesnt really have enough to make it stand out as a specificaly published campaign.

A lot of what made Greyhawk work got absorbed into FR and campaigns these days are less about flavoring the politics of the surrounding worlds and more about creating a cohesive storyline and enviroment for the PCs to play in.

That being said - it wouldnt take too much work to simply port over the previous edition adventures to a custom campaign setting from Greyhawk so why not give it a try

Welcome back. Try not to leave it so long next time. :)

Don't need Greyhawk to do megadungeons!

Time to return to that, don't you think?

Well... yes and no. If you want a megadungeon, the tools you need to do it are out there. If you're expecting to see a published megadungeon, don't hold your breath - I doubt WotC will ever publish such a thing, and the list of third-party publishers is now very much reduced.

And, of course, if you are pushing for megadungeon to be the only supported playstyle or even the default, then of course I cannot support you. But I don't think that's what you're saying.

With the upcoming release of Mordenkainen's Magnificent Emporium, I would say that Greyhawk is going to be better known for megamalls than megadungeons.

Kidding! :p
