Did he really win thought? Everyone escaped. You could see he was about to cry at the end when the Falcon went into hyperspace.
About to cry with both hands intact

Not strictly true.About to cry with both hands intact
False! The Dark Knight is the weakest film of the Nolan Batman trilogy.
True!It really should've been two films.
Lol. True. But still, the same hands he walked into the movie withNot strictly true.
Some have argued that some part of Vader was OK with Luke escaping the Emperor's grasp for now, and that is why he did not kill any of the bridge crew, as many of them (and the audience) expected. You could see he was about to cry at the end when the Falcon went into hyperspace.
Vader is awesome in appearance, powerfully iconic. But that comes with a prrice: we have far less to go on to glean his emotions and responses. Especially when the man in the suit is not really the actor inhabiting the character. Some have argued that some part of Vader was OK with Luke escaping the Emperor's grasp for now, and that is why he did not kill any of the bridge crew, as many of them (and the audience) expected.
Say what you want about Vader, but in episodes 4 & 6, when he resorted to violence it was always directed at the source of his ire. Whether it was someone in command displaying an appalling lack of competance or some dude unwisely belittling him in front of staff officers, his violence was always controlled and directed. The only one on the bridge of the Executor responsible for Luke escaping was Vader himself. He might have taken out his frustration on whomever was responsible for making sure the Falcon couldn't jump to light, but that person probably wasn't on the bridge. At the time, Vader had nobody else to blame. Some have argued that some part of Vader was OK with Luke escaping the Emperor's grasp for now, and that is why he did not kill any of the bridge crew, as many of them (and the audience) expected.
Unfortunately, Lucas was not a good enough artist to convey those things so we are forced to make excuses for Star Wars. If a more competent creator had told the same story, we would be lauding it at every turn.
