Has anyone ever seen a 3.5 update of the 3rd level spell Reverse Arrows from Magic of Faerun? If not, anyone have any good ideas for converting it to 3.5 damage reduction?
The long and short of the spell, if you're not familiar with it, is that it's exactly like Protection from Arrows, except there's a chance that you can fire incoming arrows back at their origin. Also, under the 3.0 rules, it had increasingly good resistance, so that you needed +1, +2, +3 or better to get through the damage reduction as the caster's level increased. Now, without the improved damage reduction, the spell is kind of useless because after a certain level everyone who has a hankerin' to fire an arrow has got a magic bow. So my question is, how shall I deal with that problem?
My initial impulse is just to give it DR 10/- vs. ranged weapons and leave it at that. Slightly more useful than stoneskin, but only useful against missile fire, and one level lower.
Anyone have any cunning insights into the nature of the DR system that I might use to make this spell more useable in a 3.5 game?
