Upgrading Magic Items

The DMG says that you can have a ring (or other item) with more than one enchantment, it costs 10% more than the normal item. That seems to mean that a cloak of elvenkind and Resistance +1 would cost 4200gp.

Now that isn't so much my question, as it is pretty straight forward, but is there a limit? Can I have a ring of animal friendship/Protection +5/feather fall/elemental control? I couldn't find a definitive limit like I did for weapons and armor.

Another question, can you upgrade and enchantment on a ring like you can a weapon? Make a +1 Ring of Protection into a +2, subtracting the price of the original ring?

As I recently learned, it's supposed to be a 100% increase in cost.

And no, there is not limit except what the creator can accomplish and what you can afford to purchase. Yes, you can upgrade any magic item freely, except for artifacts of any kind.

Is the 100% errata'd or advice? Ack! I knew 10% was too good to be true
