Very, very sad university news

Did you actually watch how the national media handled it after his videos and writings were released?
Yes. I'm having a hard time not watching this. Reporters standing in front of my dorm makes me sick to my stomach -- not the reporters, but the event that brought them there -- but I have a need to understand this thing that's happened.

Glad to see others shared my opinion
Most of the media are self-regulating on this pretty well. The video was only released 24 hous ago, it just seems longer.

I know this might sound cold, but I'm sick and tired of this news story. Not because of its grim nature, but I'm tired because of the pitty-me drama, terror, and stupidity it is inspiring. I'm tired of the talking heads on who are using the tragity to further their own agendas or their own ratings. Lets the dead rest and lets actually fix the problems in our society that leads to tragities like this.

Sure it's sad, and I know that the media and everyone would like me to mourn and pray for the victems in this tragity but they often neglect one victem, Seung-Hui Cho. As far as im conserned he's the worst victem of this incident since both his family and our culture/society failed him and allowed him to bobsled into the darkness the consumed his mind and soul.

No one diserves to suffer like he did without getting treatment. Unfortunately, we would never know what would have happened if he actually recieved the treatment he needed.

Tech family members across the country have united to declare this
Friday, April 20, an "Orange and Maroon Effect" day to honor those
killed in the tragic events on campus Monday and to show support for
VT students, faculty, administrators, staff, alumni, and friends.
Everyone across the country is invited to be part of the Virginia Tech

of those who were lost and support the school and community.

I've been talking to many people about this incident, and there are more than a few who do indeed hold this view; that Seung was a victim himself. However, he was an adult (and, despite mental stability problems as highlighted by stays (a stay?) in psychiatric facilities, deemed sane enough to live a normal life out in the world at large), and thus is still responsible for his own actions - which include him in the role of a murderer and terrorist.

I suppose another question is: did he slip down the cracks or fall willingly? I wonder what the real answer is, not just what we speculate...

I did this today, as did my daughter. One of my daughter's classmates also did it, and got a demerit for "showing disrespect" by being out of uniform. WTF? I swear, some teachers need to get a brain.

The AP has interviewed middle school and high school classmates. They talked about the fact that he was picked on but also that he rejected a lot of offers of friendship from other kids as well.
