This little guy was amusing in our game yesterday. I wanted to try out the new Paragon template from the Epic book on the party, now at 18th level.
But I didn't want to accidentally maul them with a template I'd never used before.
So, the Paragon Kobold was born.
Klorpok the unclassed Paragon Kobold was the door guard for an evil titan in Gehenna. Such an evil titan, in fact, that the kobold was equipped with standard kobold equipment. Nevertheless, he made a fair showing of himself.
Five swings from the hasted dwarf fighter resulted in one sturdy whack with a greater-magic-weaponed +5 battleaxe of sharpness that did 16 points to Klorpok after damage reduction, but he fast-healed that right back.
Klorpok did about 60 points of damage in his brief existence before the cleric lost patience and killed the pesky runt with a destruction spell. He made the save, but the damage took him below -10.
Note: the 1/2 HD of the kobold was making it weird to apply the template, so I changed it from 1/2d8 to 1d8, and lowered Con to 7 to to keep the average hp the same.
Paragon Kobold: CR 18; Small Reptilian Humanoid (2 ft 6 in tall); HD 1d8+24; hp 32; Init +1 (Dex); Spd 90 ft; AC 43 (+1 size, +1 Dex, +12 insight, +12 luck, +5 natural, +2 armor); Atk +31 melee (1d6+25/crit x3, halfspear) or +35 ranged (1d8/crit 19-20, light crossbow); SA spell-like abilities; SQ paragon qualities, darkvision, SR 10, light sensitivity; AL LE; SV Fort +16, Refl +19, Will +19; Str 21, Dex 28, Con 22, Int 25, Wis 25, Cha 25.
Skills: Craft (trapmaking) +19, Hide +26, Move Silently +22, Profession (mining) +19, Search +19, Sense Motive +24.
Feat: Alertness, Toughness (x2).
SA—Spell-Like Abilities (Ex): 3/day greater dispelling, haste, see invisibility. At 15th level.
