FAQ: Why didn't [insert my favourite villain] make it into the finals? Because you didn't nominate them. Honourable mentions go to Iuz, Grazzt, Demogorgon, and Azalin, who didn't manage to get a nomination.

Yes!

Voting was tough here, that's for sure. I discounted those that do not appear in D&D modules as villains/opponents. Being a literary villain or just having an entry in a monster manual doesn't qualify one for top shelf villainy in my book.

I believe "vote for your favorite darklord" deserves its own thread.

Come on folks, Strahd and Lord Soth are weak; they fell to undeath because they were weak. Bargle on the other hand is just a bad mofo.

There were nine I didn't know. I'm guessing most of them are from novels.

Who is Bargle? How can he be infamous I've never heard of him?

Yeah, I counted 11 I'd never heard of, including Bargle (at least if I say I'd never heard of them before the nomination thread, where I learned apparently he killed some woman? Because women in fridges was still a popular trope at the time I guess?)

Well Aleena is higher level than the male PC, she dies in battle defending the PC, and the PC flees with her body without a chance to avenge her. I'd say that was a long way from "Fridged Girlfriend".
