Lori is able to get within range of casting colour spray this round, by moving to the base of the stairs. Is colour spray still on the options list?
OOC: Assuming it will get more than one, yes.

***ROUND TWO***

T'Ranis' shot strikes into the Ogre's back, though the massive creature barely notices the bolt.

Shadow draws and loads his crossbow.

Guardian...

The human archers get their crossbows ready. Three are reloading frantically, eyes wide in terror as the hobgoblins approach. One of the reloading crossbowmen darts back into the building, bringing the kids with him.

The other three fire off bolts, but only one hits - skimming the charging goblin's shoulder. The crossbowmen drop their crossbows and pick up spears lying on the ground nearby, getting ready for the inevitable melee.

Lori is able to move up and bring off a Colour Spray effect by moving up the stairs a bit. A scintillating pattern of light shoots from her fingertips, stunning the ogre before her and and knocking two of the three hobgoblins to the ground.

(OOC: I rejiggered the map a bit, mostly to get this moving. And, as a side note, I still hate colour spray)

Two of the hobgoblins are on the ground, and start stumbling blindly down the stairs, wiping frantically at their eyes. The remaining hobgoblin sees that he is now outnumbered five to one, and thinks for a moment. He then bows his head, lifts his sword over his head, and shouts "AZRAG!" before charging the humans in a kamikaze rush. They are not able to stop him with their spears, and step back as the hobgoblin attacks in a frenzy.

The ogre is stunned from the color spray effect, and takes a few steps backwards. Next round, he'll be right on Lori.

The first round, Haltash's construct wasn't able to land a hit, and the ogre in fact didn't notice it. This round, the Construct finally attracts the ogre's attention, and strikes (OOC: I flipped attack rolls, just to make things smoother) - just barely. Were the ogre not so insanely furious, the construct would have missed. Haltash's crossbow bolt is also very well-placed, and buries deep within the ogre's neck. (Haltash dealt 22 damage in total this round, wow!)

Tondrek ducks and loads.

Halatsh attack roll: 6 for 3 damages[/SBLOCK]

I rejiggered the map a bit, mostly to get this moving

ooc: Where might I see this map? Also, I can't seem to make EN World and IC work at the same time... one or the other seems to be down whenever I get a chance to log in!

Sorry, Patlin - I meant the "map" I had in my head - mapping is so frickin' hard for me to do, lacking a scanner or any real means of drawing one using my comp. I suppose I could use MS Paint, but that's not exactly a great method, eh?

Forgot about Tondrek's heat metal. The screaming hobgoblin seems to be screaming even more - he falls to the ground, steam and the acrid smoke of charred flesh emanating from his armour.

The human crossbowmen fire numerous bolts into the ogre, and two actually get past the armour. Coupled with Haltash's summoned construct, the ogre is taken to the ground.

The human warriors are rallied, and surge forward, killing the two stunned hobgoblins as you make your way out from behind cover.

END OF COMBAT

"Who... who are you!?" one of the humans shouts, crouched behind a pile of debris. He seems to be trying to reload his crossbow, while at the same time appearing non-threatening.

"Thanks for your help, but I don't recognize you... if you get too close, we'll open fire." He says it hesitatingly.
