WANTED: Interactive Fiction Writers

Did you post this to rec.arts.int-fiction? That news group is THE authoring newsgroup for interactive fiction. (Or at least it was 3-4 years ago when I was into it.)

James, not that the examples weren't helpful, but perhaps you could give a bit more info to those of us who are interested but not sure what you're asking?

First, how is "d20 fiction" different from fantasy writing? I mean besides that the fantasy material must obviously be referenceable in the d20 system?

Also, what exactly is this "interactive" fiction? Ive never stumbled across the term.

Lastly, any idea if this is something to be done regularly, semi-regularly, when called upon, etc.?

I didn't want to post too much in the public forums so please email me for a great deal more info.

It would be regular work if the "idea" takes off. We have some bigger publishers behind us so it should.

Interactive fiction is where you make choices on your path you take in the story-line ( usually done by jumping around numbered paragraphs in a novel based on actions you choose ). The Lone Wolf books are the best example of this, much of his work has been duplicated on the web virbatium at: http://www.lw-oasis.org/aon

Oh, as for rec.arts.int-fiction newsgroup - I lost my newsgroup access when I installed my new OS... maybe someone can send wind of this overthere for us?

Hiya, this project sounds really interesting, but what, exactly, is "d20" fiction? Is it a short story where all the characters have d20 stats?

I think you may be over-quoting me... what I meant was that we need someone who knows d20 to write d20 modules that are mainly interactive-fiction books with maps and some special rules. So "d20 fiction" isn't a term I meant to say.

It'd be more like Zork with combat. I made a 1st or 2nd edition (can't remember now) IF in BASIC about 12 years ago. I think there are a bunch of programs out there right now to do all your text parsing, but I haven't seen any specifically handle stats, though I haven't really looked.
