Warcraft D&D Map 1: "The Haunting of Barrenrim"

Narash looks cautiously around, acting slowly. He examines the trails to see if he can determine whether the orcs seemed to be fighting the slimy creature, and whether the creature seems to have left. In doing so, he tried to approach the well, and peer in, to see if it has any obvious mystical significance.

Before he does, he mutters to the night-elf "Keep arrows ready, I think."

Narash: No, it does not seem as if the orcs fought the slimey creature. In fact * it seems that the orc fought something that didn't leave trails. The rock sealed upon the well makes it impossoble to peer into it. the clear substance is hard, glasslike and you cannot easily scratch it. The rim of the well is build from smaller rocks and looks quite usual.

Kosk: The major's wife turns to you: "Maybe you can get them in. You saw the black ghosts, too." ****

shannyn: **As you looks around with your arrows ready, you see four entirely black humanoid shapes at the far end of Barrenrim, approximatly 150 ft away. You can't see any clothing or features, only that they seem to carry black shortbows. They havn't noticed you yet. ***

* survival check: 21 ** spot: 15 *** their spot roll **** see OCC

Narash whirls around at the sounds of both surprise and attack, his nostrils flaring. He considers the things carefully, before lowering his head an snorting. "Foul creatures. Should we slay them, do you think, friend elf? Or are they beasts from beyond the grave?"

Shannyns arrow hits one of the shadow creatures, seemingly passing through it, but takes some wisps of the black substance with it*. The creature turns towards your group, then back to its "companions" alerting them to your presence.

Everyone inside the great hall also hears Shannyn's warning cry, since the door is still open.

DM admin: ok, everone has one round of actons before Initiave is rolled, assuming you don't want to avoid combat entirely.

Narash shudders a bit as he sees the arrow pass through the creature, and their obviously hostile intent. He considers. He is brave, and a powerful warrior, but he can count. He considers the doorway, and seems to reach a conclusion.

"Behind me, through the door, I think - you can go in first, I'll hold them back if they get here...."

He brandishes his halberd, and takes up a place beside the door.

¨Foul creatures¨ snarls Shannyn, as she moves towards the hut. After a single move, she shoots another arrow (provided the shadows are still in line-of-sight).

Narash: Everything works as planned.

Shannyn: once more your arrow hits the creature, but this time passing
through harmlessly.* Your move takes you close to the great hall (15 ft.)

Noone inside wants to do anything?

*hit ac 15, miss chance roll 36
