Warlock..just read it..now Im confused...HELP!

Its a new class, were confused and some of the guys are now debating the Warlock info. The info isnt presented as a normal class ie solid specifics, leaving no doubt or room for compromise.
Maybe it was late, it was after Jay Leno. So I read the Warlock last night at about 1 AM. Our 7th level Warlock would have the following. 4d6 Eldricht blast +4 invocations...THAT'S IT???
The class uses several different categories of invocations so I didnt know if that meant 4 from each or some other combo, I do believe its 4 all together-period! I know the 4 he selected to be 1) devil's sight 2) Invisibility 3) stony grasp 4) Flight...so he cant "modify" his eldricht blast at all because this is the 4 he has?

Anybody else out there with the final word on this

Yep, he has four Invocations total, which he can pick to either be stand-alone spell-like abilities or to modify his Eldrich Blast.

In trade for this small power selection, he can use the powers at will.

That's right - 4 invocations total.

Which the warlock can use at will. As in an unlimited number of times per day.

thanks I thought I read it correctly!

Im aware he has these powers at will, Im just curious to see how his power selection would differ from other players. With only 4 powers it kinda puts just a little more importance on selection.

You can take the Extra Invocation feat at level 6.

1 feat = getting an extra invocation that can be used at will (albiet 1 level lower than your max) still thats awsome :] Im gonna forward this to the player who will probably dump all his extra feats if any into this...

:)

He might want to save some feats for Empower Spell-Like Ability and Quicken Spell-Like Ability (Monster Manual, p.303-304).

BTW, there are some errata that clarify that you can apply these feats to eldritch blast as well.

He can also swap out invocations of the same level or lower any time he gets a new "upgrade" on invocations (lesser, greater, dark).

So at level 6, he could swap out one of his least invocations for a different one.
