Unfortunately, you're probably right. I've been nervous about it since I first heard talks about adapting it a few years ago.

Now, if I heard it was being made into a 12 hour HBO miniseries with a reliable writer and director attached, I would get really excited.

Yeah, a HBO miniseries I could get behind and trust in.

Even if it were just a movie, though, I think I could support it - if the only reason things got cut or changed was to make it fit into a 2-3 hour time frame. But I doubt that will be the case.

I'll add in my vote for a mini-series. I don't see it working in a 90-minute feature.
