Congrats! Welcome to the wonderful double-edged sword of home ownership. Seriously, there's no better feeling than owning your own home, but the upkeep and such (as I'm going through now) can be a major pain.

Just keep thinking "Equity"!!!

Congrats! I get to live vicariously through you, since I will most likely be living in apartments for the next 10 years.

What kind of house did you get? Details, man, details!

Congratulations! I'm in the house selling biz, and it's particularly satisfying when a young couple find their first home. Enjoy!

You never know. I am 28 and was an English major. You'd be surprised at what you can get if you live in the right place. We'd never have been able to afford a house in the DC area, for instance.

It is a 2000 sq. ft. 3 bedroom, 1 bonus room, 2 car garage home. It also has a screened in patio out back. I think we got really lucky. The house was built in 2001 and it is a foreclosure, so we were able to pick it up for a good price. In fact, my insurance company estimated it is worth 30k more than we payed for it.

:D Yay!!! I'm totally jealous as the husband and I will not be buying a house for quite some time... and I am SO SICK of apartment living already! :p

CONGRATS!

I know your pain. I detest apartments. Now that we will have a place with more than one bathroom, we will have a space for people to visit, such as if someone wanted to go to a NC Game day. ;)

:D Can I consider that an invitation? ;)

Truer words...

None of which should detract from your feeling of joy at having joined in the "American Dream", BU. Does this mean that you guys are busy packing all weekend? I was thinking of asking if you and Alenda wanted to get together and see Serenity or something.
