Well, 3d computer graphics have a trait that is useful to create such stuff: (for performance reasons) a 3d surface is only visible from it's front, it's invisible from the back side. Several mods have used this effect to create one-way-passages, i.e. you pass through a surface from the back-side and cannot go back, because suddenly there's a wall thereWasn't there a nightmare maze in Max Payne which relied on that? If you went right it went forever, but if you always went left you got out. They should have reversed that. =)
