Weapon Technique Categories

Greetings all. A little request for input. :uhoh:
I'm trying to figure out some way to change weapon proficiencies (the details are unimportant, and would take too much trouble to explain for what I'm requesting), and I've set my mind on making categories.

Now I was thinking of making a set of categories about the ways of using a weapon (the maneuvers), instead of categories about the weapons itself (it's not relevant if it's an effecient way of doing it or not, I have my reasons, which come with the too much trouble bit).

I was thinking on it a bit, and I thought up the following (as of yet):

1 Slash with one-handed weapon's tip [1H Slash]
2 Slash with two-handed weapon's tip [2H Slash]
3 Stab with one-handed weapon's tip [1H Stab]
4 Stab with two-handed weapon's tip [2H Stab]
5 Rake with one-handed weapon after Stab [1H Rake after Stab]
6 Rake with two-handed weapon after Stab [2H Rake after Stab]
7 Bash with one-handed weapon's side [1H Bash/Hack]
8 Bash with two-handed weapon's side [2H Bash/Hack]
9 Bash with one-handed weapon's end (at the hilt) [1H Hilt Bash]
10 Use both ends on a two-handed weapon (polearm and the like) [2H Both End Use]
11 Swing the end of a flail-like weapon (flail, nunchaku, whip, etc) [Flail Swing]
12 Aim a ranged weapon (see below) [Ranged Aim]
13 Throw a one-handed weapon (dagger, shuriken, kunai, etc) [1H Throw]
14 Throw a two-handed weapon (javelin, spear, lance, etc) [2H Throw]
15 Shoot a bow arrow [Shoot Bow]
16 Shoot a sling bullet [Shoot Sling]
17 Shoot a crossbow bolt [Shoot X-Bow]
18 Strangle with an object (rope, belt, bowstring, etc) [Strangle With Object]
19 Parry with one-handed weapon [1H Parry]
20 Parry with two-handed weapon [2H Parry]
21 Trip with one-handed weapon [1H Trip]
22 Trip with two-handed weapon [2H Trip]
23 Disarm with one-handed weapon [1H Disarm]
24 Disarm with two-handed weapon [2H Disarm]
25 Set two-handed weapon against a charge [2H Set Against Charge]

(these are all for lack of better names)

I think it should be possible to make some categories for martial arts with this too ('punch', 'kick', etc).

Putting in some examples, since I suck at explaining:
Let's say there's two characters fighting each other. We'll call them Fighter and Barbarian.
Fighter attacks Barbarian with [1H Slash] using his longsword. He uses the modifiers of his [1H Slash] proficiency on his longsword when he attacks in this way with the weapon.
Next, Barbarian attacks Fighter with [1H Bash/Hack] using his battle-axe, which means that he's hacking at Fighter.
Next, Fighter attacks Barbarian again, only this time he uses [1H Stab] also with his longsword, after which, if Barbarian doesn't take action, Fighter could make [1H Rake] his next action, to give some nasty damage to Barbarian.
Fighter and Barbarian can use different moves with their weapons, and they can have different degrees of skill with those moves.

So, you can use [1H Slash] with any weapon that would fit into the description (one-handed, and able to slash). Skill with the weapon itself it left out of the picture for this topic.

I hope that explains it a bit better o_o

Anyway, now I was hoping someone might be able to help me out with finalizing this list a bit more, if any. Questions, suggestions, whatever. :D

More discussion might be going on over here.

Thanks in advance :3

It looks interesting but with 25 different techniques (and thus 25 modifiers) it is far too complicated to be viable. Cut the list down (drastically) and then maybe it can be developed

Each technique is only viable for certain kinds of weapons, though.
A character would only have modifiers in the technique that it improved upon.
Someone who never uses a weapon capable of slashing (blunt weapons) would have no need to improve themselves in [1H Slash] or [2H Slash], for example.

They're all maneuvers that can be done without training (though you might not be very good at it), so as a standard they don't even have modifiers.
So, unless you want to be better than normal in every kind of technique, it's really not that much trouble (and even then..).

And as for the 25 being allot. There's allot more, since I haven't even touched on martial arts yet (except maybe a little with the strangle technique) or using two weapons.
They only use one at a time, so I don't see how this is any more complicated than using feats or skills.
