Just got home from Weird Al's latest show, at the Boston Orpheum Theatre.

The man's been at it for years, but he still has the goods. He gives an excellent concert, with a good mix of things from his newest album and the old standards.

At the end of the concert, you could see that he was a guy making a living at making people happy, and enjoying it. What could possibly be better than that?

Anyway, I'm tired, and have to get up to prep food for a Star Wars game tomorrow when I get up. Dare to be stupid, y'all!

Weird Al is a genius. I've loved his work since I first heard it on the "Doctor Demento" radio show back when I was in high school, when he was first starting his music career.

Yup, we saw him last month when he came to town.

FYI, if you go around back to the bus and wait, he will autograph something for everybody in line.

That is how good a guy he is.

I also bought Steve Jay's CD while I was out there. He actually walked along the line, signing things for everybody while waiting for the hotel shuttle.

We did that once, some years ago. His rendition of "One More Minute" included a pair of boxer shorts with read hearts printed all over them. My wife (friend at the time) caught them, and we *had* to get them signed...

lucky! I think Wanna be your lover is replacing one more minute.

You guys did stick around for the encore with the yoda chant, right?

It did last night, anyway, yes.

Yes. Very cool stuff. It took a bit, as he had to get out of the suit for Fat and into Jedi clothes to do "The Saga Begins" and "Yoda" as the encore.

I tell you, the man's darned good at quick costume changes.

When i was doing community theater, I would have 2 or 3 cloths changes ot at a given time- during summer- in missouri-and outside theater.

Once you're doing it under 10,000+ Watts of stage lighting, it's all hot, no matter the time of year. :)

Yes, that's one technique. Certainly, you could fit nearly anything underneath the suit for "Fat". But in most of the cases , I don't think that was what he was doing - I was in the fourth row back (we had*awesome* seats), and could see his age-wrinkles. Hiding many costume changes on his skinny frame would have been noticeable, and in a few cases outright impossible.

He did have sections of "Al TV" on between numbers to give him changing time, mind you. I think he just had a well-oiled costume machine back stage.

too bad my town here gets overlooked all of the time. We hardly ever get to see any thing great, and if there is someone great, either the university students get the tickets bought and / or scalpers .
