Well, that was an interesting evening!

I am planning to perform a TPK of my players' characters in a similar manner at some point in the future, as a part of the storyline. They do know they are going to die, thanks to a prophecy they received from an earth weird, but I imagine they'll be upset nonetheless. :D

You just gave me a couple of great ideas.

Although we have angered a drow city, a powerful lich and now owe the church of Raziel 150,000 GP - due in 1 week. Oh and demons are invading. And we're being stalked by a supercharged Death Knight. Hmmm, wonder if we can engineer it so they all kill each other? Would we still get the xp and pile 'o treasures. :p

Like how you wanted the XP for the mind flayer city?

Folks, this is the sort of thing I have to deal with on a weekly basis! These guys were fleeing from an uber-death-knight and hid in - of all places - an illithid city. The death knight and his demons destroyed the city, killing all the mind flayers. The players escaped the city, and then had the cheek to ask for XP because they were "ultimately responsible" for the destruction of the mindflayer city! At one point I thought they were about to start calculating out what they thought they should have earned for it, having "defeated" several thousand illithids! :D

It's a perfectly reasonable request. :D

The death knight wouldn't have been there if it wasn't for us... so we are ultimately responsible?

I hope the demon army is here for us too - we'd get loads of XP if they sacked the city we're in at the moment. Yay!

We could let them blow up the city, level up loads and then fry them with our new kewl powerz.

Any chance of us unleashing some kind of world destroying mega comet - the Forgotten Realms has to be worth a ton of XP?

And thanks for the reminder, I'll get started on that calculation now. :)

Especially in an antimagic field, with the only non-spellcaster paralyzed. :p

Bye
Thanee

It wasn't the best situation to be in... The non spellcaster could did dish out some awesome damage once unparalysed... Unfortunately once he'd gone down, we had to fall back on alchemical junk and our cleric - with his mighty D8+1 damage. The finesse illithid and it's D4 tentacles could have been dangerous. 3 lucky grapple checks and it'd be munching brain. :)

If only we'd found the secret escape door in time. Ah well!

Hey, don't forget the bazaar full of XP, I mean creatures too!!!

Anyways, not only did that UH keep on getting 20s, after my initial attack, fer each other one I couldn't roll above a 6.....seriously! :(

I can't believe what happened last night and it's gonna haunt me to the end of me days! The mage's final line made me proud however and Morrus is right that I'm going back to that damned city to get me swords 'n' stuff back, and stick one of them swords up 'er backside!!!

At least I got rid of that damned cissy sorcerers body!

Also, note to self.......do NOT let DM wind you up fer making a tactical withdrawal and then go charging headlong into certain death when you have a possible tactic to use before charging....DOH!!!

Major items lost:

1. Holy Avenger, (falchion).
2. +1 Keen, Undead Bane Falchion, (ancestor weapon and damn good reason for arranging another school trip to Drow Central!).
3. +1 Mithral Full Plate of Speed.
4. +1 Animated Tower Shield.
5. Belt of Major Displacement.
6. Ring of Free Action.
7. Boots of Flying.

:( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

I've got to go begging for a new Holy Symbol, too...

That Vow of Poverty is looking very tempting, you know... Where are we going to get 150,000 from? Might be cheaper to let the army invade...

Oh, and it was D8+2. I can appreciate how you might think it was lower given the way I was rolling, but still...
